Won't believe it until it's set in stone & makes the PJ Star!
Of course the PJS is a very flexible stone.

Overall impression, I think he's very likable. You could see his attempts at humor, which I like that he doesn't take things too seriously. You can tell he understands college basketball. Most of his answers centered around winning, and how that inturn will make everything better. I hope that the recruits and team see that and are willing to build around him.

Welcome to the Hilltop Coach Ford!
      Thanks for the highlights BUBalum05!

I am excited about the future of the program! Can't wait for the season to start!

What makes you think that this is a great hire? Just curious... I am pulling for GF, and hope he does well here, but I think that it is too early to say that this is a great hire. jmho

I'm right there with ya O&B. Coach Ford made mention of being impressed with the number the BU fans who made it to Hawaii several years ago. Too bad he wasn't in South Padre to have seen how much noise we can make!

yep, it was great to see all of them joining the Braves family and wearing red right away! It's those seemingly little things that make a big difference in letting the fans know they are excited and supportive. They will get excitment and support in return from me!

With that logic, no one is a great hire. I think he has all the qualities that Bradley could ask for in a basketball coach.

Very much understand where you are coming from, and my neutrality is not a result of the previous coach. I very much think that we overpaid for this guy, and I want to see what he does with style of play etc this Fall before I get very excited.

Agree to a certain extent.. IMO, this can be called a "great hire" when GF proves himself on the court. Until then, I can't categorize this as a great hire.
For the past two hires, I have wanted a BCS assistant coach from a proven coaching tree. We could have easily had that this time. --even then, I would not have categorized that type of hire as being a "great hire." Time will tell...Therefore I am neutral.

                    Run 'N' Gun

Is anyone else excited to see BU bball running up and down the court again, after Geno said that he wanted to score a lot of points. I feel that this could be a good offense for BU with Walt, DSE, TB, Stewart and we have some quick moving forwards. This is a BU style that I could love watching.

BTW, Coach Ford did say he had met with the team last night, but he had also met with Donivine Stewart prior to the press conference. Donivine sat with the team in the special area closer to the podium reserved for the players. He has not contacted the other recruits, but that is a high priority for him to do as soon as possible.

I had a chance to talk briefly to Dyricus before the press got to him, and he was very excited and happy, but he has not decided yet what he will do.
Good to hear about Dyrius and Donovine and also the walkons. Does that include Andrew Davis too? I was under the impression he was already gone.

Just the fact he seems energized and young and the players seem to like him. Obviously can't make any judgments yet on his coaching but my biggest worry was getting in a coach who would be able to "gel" with the players and not some old fart. I don't really see this being as catastrophic as everyone seemed to think, in fact I got a feeling we might actually be pretty darn good this year (cross my fingers)

Andrew was there. I do not know what his plans are, do you know? What does he think of Geno Ford?
Andrew was not with the team in St. Louis, so do you (or anyone) know why? It was good to see him there today!

Here is how Kent State ranked in the MAC stats-

the only thing they appear to have excelled at is 3-point defense. Otherwise they were average to good in most other categories.

Hopefully Andrew is in the weight room bulking up.

No clue, haven't heard a word about him hence the assumption. Any word on if he's trying to retain Remy?
