What an incredibly enjoyable game to watch.....the VCU kids deserve respect......This guarantees one mid-major in the title game...
so how long before we start hearing one of those stupid talking heads saying the game between UConn and UK/UNC is "the real national championship game"!!
Anyway -- is there anyone on the Kansas squad who has to be wondering how he could have made such as bad decision as Jeff Withey???
Withey is a 5-Star, blue chipper, 7-footer, McDonald's AA who chose Arizona initially, then quit and transferred to Kansas when Lute Olson retired....after the Jayhawks won the National Championship and Aldrich left for the pros -- and I am sure he figured he'd be part of more National Titles...
but after sitting out a year, last year he barely played and averaged 1 ppg. Surely he'd get some playing time this year since he was really the only CENTER on Kansas' team!!
But, no......Bill Self this year decided to go with multiple power forwards, the twins, etc..and Withey sits the bench some more getting pretty much only garbage time....
So now Withey's career is half over and he's never played, and no guarantee he's going to play with the talent Kansas brings in every year...maybe he shoulda aimed at a mid-major??
....as now both of his years at Kansas have ended somewhat embarrassingly by UNI & VCU...

That's very interesting. That's not what some of these pundits said five years ago when George Mason (and the Valley) made their run through the tournament. They said ratings dropped quite a bit, which leads me to believe someone was lying back then.
But this year's higher ratings seem to support this trend, though having games on four different networks may have played at least a small part in the ratings gain as well.
Technically, I think the higher ratings had to do with the 4 network coverage. I think the ratings are going to take a nose dive for the Final 4 though. Butler probably has a decent bandwagon viewership in Indy but VCU has no where close to a large mid major to BCS viewership. It was kind of weird when they did the wide shot during todays VCU/KU game in San Antonio. Only 1 section was filled with all VCU fans, the rest of the stadium was filled with KU Blue. Ratings will no doubt go down but will still be fun to watch.

actually what that article says is that this year's ratings thus far ties the 2006 as the highest since 2005
