Cross has said many times he was going to hire a great coach so there is no way KW list can be right. So who is this great coach Cross is talking about?

Matt Graves would be a great fit. Works for an outstanding coach and clearly has the chops to help lead mid-major teams to key wins. if we can't get a head coach, we need top quality asst coach.Comment

I was always a Barry Hinson fan during his days at Missouri State - after his #21 RPI showing during the 05/06 campaign, I thought he was on track to accomplish some special things. His failure to win conference championships and garner NCAA bids, however, ultimately led to his downfall. It seems as if the big money donors at Missouri State wanted much more. At this point in the process, I believe that Hinson would be a "safe" choice - he would recruit good kids, and he would field a competitive team, but would he really be any better than what we had?Originally posted by tornado View PostComment

I only mean this to be a mild criticism, but I have thought that the wording in Cross' letter of hiring a "great coach" was a poor decision because the definition of "great coach" has different meanings to people who read the letter, which in turn creates a more heated debate after the hiring of the new coach. For example, I liked the possibility of Rob Jeter as our next coach and thought that would be a good hire for us, while others were completely against the idea.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
