In fact, it is almost a certainty that this has happened with some candidates, possibly Giacoletti, as it is what the search firms do with the money they charge.
Ok, but what about the rest of his quote where he says "That's totally false." in regards to the report that he turned the job down?

      Please expand on that.

In my opinion, the JL buddies are waging an anti-JG campaign because she did her job by taking steps to move on and create what will hopefully be a winning basketball program.
I support the administration's quest to find the right coach for the job. I am willing to give them a chance. I hope the right guy is out there.

I will not get into specifics on a message board. All I can say is...

          Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Maybe candidates look at the BU job as a career killer. Albeck and Mo never recovered from the firing. I remember hearing similar comments about why some wanted to steer clear of the Cubs manager job.

Interesting thought. Do you really think that could be a reason at Bradley? I really doubt so.

Hmmm..didn't they base much of that front page column on the exact same internet sports site that so many criticized and trashed here yesterday?
Hmmm... don't you trash the Journal Star regularly?

I questioned the information, and I would hardly consider that trashing. Posting 3 links of the same information doesn't increase the credibility of the SINGLE source. The PJstar used "according to a source close to the Sutton family." not Sports by Brooks. They may be the same source, but I saw no mention of that from Sports by Brooks.

                KW wrote this recently:

"A little insight to how this info process works: All over the country, reporters have sources (and national writers, by the very scope of their jobs, tend to have more), and many of those sources are coaches -- heads and assistants. Those guys talk back and forth across the country to each other all the time. For the most part, they all know who everybody is, but they don't all know each other. They do talk, though. And they are incomparable gossips. What you have to be careful of when you talk to one is how to discern what he knows for sure from what he has heard and thinks he knows. So the same guy can be dead-on accurate on one thing and half a world away on another -- AND be convinced he is gold on both."

I'm pretty skeptical on information after reading KW.

The post comparing Bradley to the Cubs should be deleted. It clearly violates several board rules - offensive, personal insult, etc.

Well and the point is, unless someone flat out comes out and says why they don't take a certain job (which rarely happens), we just will never really know why guys pull out...could be a multitude of reasons really...

That said, I'm kinda taking everything I hear very lightly because we don't know the reality from the Memorex at this point.

The people that I have talked to who in the past have inside info, have none. They speculate, but really seem to be being kept out of the loop.

I would guess that there might be less than 5 people that know what is going on in real time.
