Mizzou had him on Mike Alden's list when the school hired Anderson five years ago.

Matt Painter, Purdue

Getting out of the shadow of the Hoosiers (down as they may be) in Indiana could be a factor.

Ben Jacobson, Northern Iowa

Has proven he can beat Kansas and is considered one of brightest in Missouri Valley.

Cuonzo Martin, Missouri State

Only three years with the Bears may not be enough seasoning to take the leap.

I saw a tweet last night from a Fox Sports analyst that stated that the AAU coaches would love to see Cuonzo Martin get the job at Missouri. fwiw

It would seem that Martin's style would fit better with the players that Anderson recruited, and the style he played, but if I was going to get an MVC coach for the job I'd take Jacobsen ahead of Martin.
