I did that. I talked to high level person in the athletic department and asked them what kind of support there was for retaining vs. firing Coach Les. It turns out the upper donors were all consulted, and the person I talked to was one of those who did that work.
I was told it was more than 95% in favor of retaining Coach Les.
But I do not want anyone taking my word for it. Call and ask yourself.

And we are not all anonymous. I suspect nearly everyone here knows who I am, including the people at Bradley. So those that know me know I am not making this stuff up.
You are the man DC. Thanks for all that you do.

I'm honestly not trying to be difficult here. Though I do disagree with you, I don't refute the fact that you're way more dialed in than most people on the board. You just have to understand the fact that considering your stance about the coaching situation, it seems to me (and I know many others on here agree) that it is not coincidental at all that you are trying to drum up that this was basically a wholesale support of the previous coach from everyone except the president (and maybe the AD?). Just comes across as sour grapes, even if what you have to say is 100 percent accurate. Does that make sense at least?
    Go Braves!

I can see why it might seem like sour grapes to people who wanted a coaching change. But even those fans now have to admit and accept that next season is not going to be as successful as it was shaping up to be.

Maybe someday we will know why the change was made, but up to now, we (the fans), as well as the players, have been kept in the dark.
That is bound to have its consequences, as we are now seeing.

The firing and hiring process is certainly providing some drama. Not being in Peoria, my primary source of what is happening in this area is what I read on the boards and in the paper. It will be very disappointing if the treatment of JL has been handled as some are indicating.

With regard to next season though, I certainly haven't concluded that next season is not going to be as successful as it was shaping up to be. There was no past indication of success within the MVC. Even in the 5 good years of 2005-06 trough 2009-10, JL had an overall poor (i.e., losing) record against the upper level teams of the MVC ... No Iowa, MSU, WSU, Creighton, and SIU. I had a wait and see attitude for next year with regard to JL to see if he could finally have a break out year in MVC play.

If the current roster stays in place, a new coach could still lead this team to a top 3 fiish in the conference. I'm waiting to see what the coaching selection process ends up producing, but there are no sour grapes on my part.

Hopefully people do not change their expectations of the program based on who is coach. The same people who expected us to be Gonzaga with Jim Les should expect the same under the new coach.

I haven't seen any posts from people expecting Bradley to be Gonzaga. I have seen a lot posts from people expecting Bradley to achieve a top 3 finish in conference play.

Great! I'm just saying I hope those expectations remain consistent in 11-12 and beyond.

I talk to a bunch of alums (most do not share our passion of BF.com) and not one believed that JL should have been fired this year. I'm not saying they were shocked just that he should have been given another year. I doubt if any of them are following the hire but I can tell you if it is a dud they will.
