I wrote a letter to the trustee chairman in support of the JL decision and got a respnse back. They need to know just as many (if not more) support the decision than don't.
And the administration did try to gauge the sentiment of the fans and donors, and what they found out was that the huge majority supported giving Jim Les another year. Again, there will be those who choose not to believe that, but I suggest they contact anyone at Bradley- it's open knowledge.

What's the statistical breakdown of that? Who was asked? I mean, unless there's some data out there, how can you claim that there was a "huge majority"?
I won't argue with ya that maybe it was a majority - I surely don't know as I wasn't one of the scientific surveys conducted by the administration. But maybe it isn't a majority???
Unless of course some donors count for like 18 votes because they are louder, more vocal and are more important (aka $$$) than others.Go Braves!

Of course the donors wanted JL back. He was their buddy, their pal. He made them feel important and in the know. They were connected. Now they're all angry because there is no guarantee the new coach will be so buddy-buddy with them.

But of course, none of us contribute big money to the program, so our opinions aren't counted in your survey.

Oh, and this might disappoint you- It is almost certain that whoever the new coach is, they will make every effort to become buddy-buddy with those same donors.

DC, I apologize that my comments were somewhat rude. I wasn't meaning to single out all donors. That wasn't my intention as I know many are great fans who just want a successful program like I do.
What I meant was that there are a small segment who seem to be upset not because Bradley fired it's coach, but because that coach was their friend. I believe that if they didn't count JL as a friend, their perception of his performance would be different.
I also believe that the constant claims that "the majority" of fans wanted to bring JL back for another year simply aren't true. The majority of the donors may have wanted him back, but the donors are only a small part of the fanbase as a whole.

Hm, I guess because we have a couple of anonymous posters saying that it's a vast majority, I guess we all must take it as gospel.
Similar to what ammetrick said - if you want to say the vast majority of donors wanted him to stay, I can't refute that - I'm sure I'll probably never have the money or connections to either become a major donor or even meet any of these people.
But I simply won't believe the vast majority of all fans wanted status quo. Obviously you can't poll everyone, but if you look at some of the best, most passionate fans of BU hoops that post on here, it definitely wasn't a "vast majority" on the pro side.
You have the right to be mad forever t, but I think you (and the others on here who are on your side) are lumping your own hard feelings in with the masses and trying to make it a collective representation of the whole.
Just my opinion, I know you will disagree ... but I really think that's all we can take your comments as well - "opinion" - unless I see some kind of quantitative survey.Go Braves!

I did that. I talked to high level person in the athletic department and asked them what kind of support there was for retaining vs. firing Coach Les. It turns out the upper donors were all consulted, and the person I talked to was one of those who did that work.
I was told it was more than 95% in favor of retaining Coach Les.
But I do not want anyone taking my word for it. Call and ask yourself.
And we are not all anonymous. I suspect nearly everyone here knows who I am, including the people at Bradley. So those that know me know I am not making this stuff up.

I am simply saying that the viewpoint of the upper donors does not reflect that of the fanbase as a whole.
