Because I think it could be just around the corner.
We just finished last in the Valley and have lost 4 straight to bad ISU teams. Based strictly on on-court performance, I think the sky has fallen.

But I will admit, until we get a coach and stabilize this roster, I can't totally disagree with your last line. This next hire will make or break us.

Whoa whoa whoa... Only this year's team was bad. The others at least qualify as average.

Jeter turning BU down is pretty embarrassing. I went to the road game in Milwaukee a couple years ago and unless that program has gone through some major changes, BU and UWM don't seem close. Im pretty biased though.

I would probably be better off if I were like some on here and didn't feel like the sky was falling. But I need to hear some good news, and fast

It is far more realistic to believe that he made a couple calls, evaluated the situation, and decided he's better off in Milwaukee earning half as much.

Jeter is far from the only coach to turn Bradley down.

I know I am not all-knowing like some are, but if I remember correctly, the last time BU hired a new coach, people withdrew from consideration as well, and JG was not President and we hired JL- what gives?

                    Hmmm...

I am also fascinated by all the conjecture about why people turn BU down, and how it is passed off as fact..

And while I don't doubt that some at BU may be talking with top donors, I hardly think there is a steady stream or a line outside the President's door demanding to be heard...

JL is a treasured alum, and many feel mad about how he was let go... All this vitriol isn't gonna change that- and if your desire is to see Bradley fail, I would say job well done!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Wow, I feel like I've entered the Bizarro World of Bradleyfans. It's like everything is flipped on it's head, positive is negative and negative is positive. The big problem in this black & white universe is that truthfully nothing is black & white, just multiple shades of gray!!!

that time the answer was very well known...in 2002 many of the candidates saw and knew of pressure and meddling from one of the selection committee who was also a member of the Board of Trustees....this caused several good candidates to withdraw

I have to agree. I think the President knew full-well what was going to happen in the post-JL era. As did Dr. Cross.

If you have ever had to remove/fire someone, you know there is always fallout afterwards.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

                            ..
                            I beg to differ strongly...
I think they did not count the costs and anticipate the fallout...and now we see scrambling to get-r-done when they thought getting their candidate would be an easy slam dunk.
It is widely known behind the scenes what's going on nad it is a broad difference in "Management style" that one side thinks is good while the other doesn't want any part of it at any pay....and then we understand why candidates like Jeter - who first came begging to get out of his current situation, then turned 180 degrees when he learned more..

Ah yes. The same committee member who also cast votes to hire these people.

                              Yup. He wanted them gone.
                              Just the facts...

Yes, and 9 years later people with axes to grind are still referring to it as a sham, and a botched job, and complaing about how it was done.

So it doesn't bother people that Bradley is throwing an unbelieveable amount of money at multiple potential candidates, and we are still getting snubbed? If the Peoria media did half as much homework as these coaches who are turning down Bradley's coaching offers, they'd have a great story to write.
