They are working feverishly to keep the team together, but grossly underestimated the effect their firing would have. And now Northern Illinois is set to hire Paul Lusk for about half what we tried to throw at Rob Jeter. Even Pollyanna would start to get a little worried.

If we don't have a coach when it's time for practice in October, I'll get worried. Seriously, I see where you're coming from, DC, but this has to be the right here, not just a quick one.

The truth is that the BU job probably isn't as glamourous as it was back in 1988 or 1991 or 2006 so making the right hire just might take a little more time than we expect.

I've said all along that I want Sydney Johnson but, assuming we can't get him, I still think there are plenty of quality folks out there.

I was not worried until I saw the NIU info. I am OK if they get Lusk. I would be disappointed if we settled on RG. But I would give him some time and see how he does.

Uh then I suggest you put on the big boy pants and either consider your future investments and walk away or deal with what the future will hold like some of us...
