  • DSE seeks release

  • #2
I don't see how transferring makes much sense for Dyricus but he needs to do what he thinks is best for him. I like watching him play and would like to watch him at Bradley the next two years but the program will survive one way or another.

That's unfortunate. Best of luck Dyricus.

Well this is not good, but it's somewhat of a relief that Coach Brown said his plans aren't to leave Bradley. He's just weighing his options, which does not surprise me. I hope we see DSE back next year in a BU uniform, which I have a feeling we will know in the next week or so. A decision on the new coach will probably come first. Then DSE's decision, and anyone else who wants a release's decision.

it's worse than unfortunate -- it's like someone crashing into the hidden part of an iceberg because they unwilling to consider the warnings that it was there.....

but it was so, so predictable........

it doesn't mean he's leaving but by obtaining the release, he can at least talk to other schools and find out what his options are....in other words...he can see if the grass is greener.......
What Bradley needs is green grass........

"Right now, Dyricus' plans aren't to leave Bradley," Brown said. "He's trying to meet with Dr. (Michael) Cross to weigh his options. He hasn't been able to meet with him yet."

            WHY!???

Rumor has it that the firing of JL was not what Cross wanted to do.

wrong -- this is so different that even Chitown bloggers are talking about......and what's more unique is that you even have players who HAVE NO REDSHIRT year weighing the option of asking to be released and looking to transfer..
now that speaks some mighty loud volumes...

It's too bad. DSE had potential.

I still wonder how we were constantly muddling in the middle or worse with all of this coveted talent.

Bottom line...don't release people until they meet the coach. It looks bad for the players to give up without seeing who is hired.

                        My question as well.

Can't blame DSE for keeping his options open and looking out for himself.

If you really want to go scorched earth, you should hope that the administration makes a terrible hire, runs the landmark program further into the ground, and hastens its inevitable downfall.

                          Just saying...

wasn't my idea...and BTW -- I think you might be a little wrong...

When Greg McDermott was hired at Creighton - how many players asked out?
When Cuonzo Martin was hired at MSU - how many players asked out?
When Porter Moser was fired - how many players asked out?
When Keno left or when Royce left, or even when McKenna or Turgeon, or Merf, or when Jake took over for McD....how many players asked out??

The truth is you are WRONG -- most midmajor kids DO not leave -- most don't have the talent, prowess, or whatever you want to call it to expect they get any more playing time anywhere else......
With as many coaching changes as there's been in the past few years in the Valley -- I really can't think of ONE where someone asked out before the next coach was hired...
Not P'Allen -- he was dismissed, not OE -- he considered it but stayed....
So you are wrong -- in the Valley it is a strikingly unusual phenomenon already happening twice in the two weeks since JLJ was fired.

and Veve get off your high horse..I want the best coach and want to win more than you or anyone else...and I prove it with my loyalty and support...........nice try -- but you'll have to look elsewhere for someone to blame...

I had come to the conclusion that it was time for a coaching change at Bradley. I still believe that and Bradley may end up making a great choice. But the administration has completely mishandled this from a public relations standpoint. They look like amateurs. So many mistakes and then the news today. They absolutely can't afford to have any more candidates publicly reject them and any more of their better players ask for a release saying the AD hasn't had time to meet with him. Image matters and Bradley needs to get this under control.
