"UW-Milwaukee has fallen hard since 2005"
"The school's athletic department is faced with the double whammy of a growing budget deficit and a drop in fund raising...UWM's
basketball program, under coach Rob Jeter, has receded from the national spotlight.

But attendance has fallen off in recent years. ...the Panthers would play three non-conference games at the Klotsche Center next season to save money.

The university has a lease at "The Cell" through the 2011-'12 season, but a proposal by Koonce to eventually move all home games back on campus is
supported by Jeter and women's basketball coach Sandy Botham.

A few years ago, a $40 million facility upgrade led to an athletic Pavilion adjacent to the Klotsche Center. Though the facility seats only 3,500, both
coaches see advantages in playing there.

"We would love to have a facility that is owned and run by the athletic department. That allows you to help generate revenue, allows you to help yourself."

Looks like Jeter's AD was fired for his "management style"

George Koonce was a disaster as A.D. Give the UWM leadership credit for figuring this out and making the change rather quickly. Koonce's ouster had nothing to do with "management style" and everything to do with mismanagement and incompetence.

Milwaukee is a great sports town but after the Bucks, Marquette, and UW-Madison there isn't alot of money left over for UWM. Plus, since it is a younger school that was a D2 commuter school until the mid 90s there isn't a lot of old money there that is tied to the basketball program.

All of that has nothing to do with Rob Jeter...well, at least it would make sense why he would see the Bradley job as a step up.
