I've read a lot of harsh criticism of JG's head coach selection for Bradley's baseball team. Braves baseball hasn't exactly been a power house for years, yet this year's team is off to a very good start (12-6) and has beat some very good programs. Looks like the recruiting classes are starting to show results. Maybe the hire will work out after all.

How can this be Dallas Brave? Everyone knows Elvis is Glasser's friend and is certainly NOT worthy and up to the job. The Administration has NO IDEA what they are doing! This must just be a lucky start by OUR Braves. I'm kind of confused. Shouldn't we be rooting against these guys?

Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson could go undefeated and that doesn't make them good hires.

The ED hire was handled terribly and there is nothing that will EVER change that fact. I don't expect you to understand this.

Agreed, ED could win multiple national championships and that hire would still be a bad one because of the way it was handled. If there are really that many people here who can't see that and are win at all costs types I suggest they follow BCS type teams like KU or USC.

            You're right.

Why not just celebrate their good start and stop trying to use the baseball team's record in some silly "gotcha" game with regard to Joanne Glasser? It's unfair to the coach and team.

in all fairness there's been discussion of the process but nobody I have seen yet has said they don't like Elvis Dominguez or that they want him gone....none..
In fact, I have met him and talked with him and I like him...and wish the best for him and want very strongly to see him win....
There was intense criticism of the process of the basketball coach being selected last time (in 2002) so why cannot people discuss the process of the baseball coach selection without it being deemed a personal attack ...

                Hiring process = Bad.

Results = Appear to be improving.

Here's to continued success for the Braves baseball program.

I did not mean to imply that the there were messages attacking AD personally. But the messages that I refer to were harsh on the process and did question the team's future success as a result of the process.

I was one of those people. More than happy to be wrong - It's been a long time since we had a baseball team worth caring about. There's a lot of baseball left, but I cannot recall the last time we got off to a 12-6 start. Let's hope they keep it up - I would love to have a BU team to care about during all 3 seasons (fall, winter, spring).

Maybe the Mike Dunne days with Dewey in the early 80's?

By the way it is fun to watch some games at the Stadium downtown. I like it about as much as watching the Chiefs.

With all due respect to Dewey Kalmer and the success he had, he waited too long to retire. The game outgrew him IMO. Bradley hadnt fielded a baseball contender in a looooooooooong time. When was the last time they qualified for the conference tourney outside of last year when everyone made it due to UNI(?) cutting the program?

I do think that BU lucked out by playing most of their games against northern teams while they were down in Florida rather than playing the Florida/southern teams that have probably been outside since January. With that said, 12-6 is always better than 6-12 or worse.

And yeah, nice Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson references pretty sure ED is not under any investigations/ever has been, and is not a total slime ball like those 2.

with only a little over a week left and BU Baseball has 7 scheduled games remaining and then the MVC Tourney.
Current record is 22-23 and 4-11 in the Valley...let's hope the Braves can finish strong
