I wonder what excuse Seth Greenberg will use for this loss!

Shockers expose yet another overrated team -- given a #1 NIT seed but most talking heads from out east saying Virginia Tech deserved a 10 seed in the NCAA
and to think...the Valley was weak this year and neither of the best two teams even went to the NCAA!

After the Shockers win today, Jay Bile-up-ass said, "After the NCAA tournament selections were publicized, I wondered if some people on the committee knew whether the ball is round. I was having a hissy fit when the committee included UAB and VCU and omitted Virgina Tech. After Wichita State beat Va Tech on Tech's home court, I now realize my head is block-shaped for not arguing for Wichita State to be in the NCAA. And I also realize the Committee members do know the ball is round after VCU beat Georgetown"

Well, I guess winning the NIT would be somewhat of a poetic justice for the teams that did not get invited to the tourney.Last edited by Bravesfan; 03-20-2011, 05:10 PM.

Good bit of sarcasm DB! You probably had a lot of people on here fooled like me.

I fogot that the NIT was going on this weekend while the Big Boys are playing in the national spotlight!
This was great news to see about WSU!
I'd love to see them in MSG!
Didn't think they'd beat Va Tech, but they proved me wrong.
The Valley is now 6-1 in post-season tourneys as far as I know. Pretty impressive!

In addition, it's a treat to Shocker fans who have supported the team with sell-outs all season long to be able to have a chance to cheer their team to the NIT final 4.
Nice way to send the seniors out in front of the home faithful...if they win.
I'd have to say the Shocker fans might be the best in the Valley as far as reving the team up and coming out to support the team in good seasons or bad.
BU fans do the same, but it's just not the same boisterous environment that should give the home team that extra edge.
