Thought this deserved a thread of its own.........
Illinois grabbed a double digit lead only about 9 minutes into the game (22-12)
..then by the 4-minute mark in the 1st half held a 20-point lead (35-15) -- and the rout was on...reaching 23 points before halftime...
Pay no attention to the final score -- that's only a reflection of Bruce Weber shuttling the waterboys in at the end....even the two no-name walk-ons Selus & Berardini...
That had to be just for the rub it in effect on Lon Kruger.......
Illinois shot 63% in the 1st half and 60% overall.
Looks to me that all those games Illinois struggled in the past couple months was because they were looking ahead to this game -- but now they are here and now they are ready...
I would love to see Illinois beat Kansas!!
---as a side note -- Jereme Richmond was suspended after starting a fight in the lockerroom with Brandon Paul
Recall -- Richmond has had issues everywhere he's played -- kicked off high school teams, suspended....
Maybe he is a P'Allen Stinnett-like distraction -- and obviously the Illini were FAR better without him!
