  • Bruce Pearl could be unemployed ..

Lots of rumble that the NCAA has informed Tennessee that they are considering a penalty of one-year suspension from coaching for Bruce Pearl for his lying to the investigators -- this to allow them to begin a search for a suitable replacement...

BUT -- all this is severely detracting from Tennessee's NCAA game which the NCAA has so nicely and graciously allowed for Tennessee to enjoy by severely dragging it's feet on the investoigation, hearing, and issuing of penalties...

BUT -- rumor also has it that as soon as the season ends, Pearl will get fired so Tennessee can legitimately go after a replacement...no way they'd go with an interim in hopes of getting Pearl back in 2012.

If Tennessee loses to Michigan today, he could be fired and the search begun...but here's a rumor that's being reported in Atlanta, that Pearl will at least be a candidate for Georgia Tech if they can get an immediate ruling and avoid the suspension...

    Michigan absolutely dominates Tennessee....75-45...
Tennessee folded and got outscored 45-19 in the 2nd half...
    Beilein has 'em playing....
Maybe Tennessee belonged in the NIT...just sayin'....

I think they deserved the NIT as well.

They could have put Missouri St into the tournament instead.

I hope Pearl has his unemployment papers ready to go. And if I hear ANYONE suggest he coach Bradley, well I won't even dignify any of those suggestions with a response!

You wanna talk about throwing names in that would cause me to stop supporting BU hoops, Satan is at the top of the list. In fact, he is the list.

Some reporters are making this so much worse citing that
today is Bruce Pearl's birthday -- so it would be only fair and kind
to let him be through the weekend and fire him next week...

It is possible the Tennessee AD will wait until after the NCAA's final decision on the violations case they are considering. That way he can more easily be fired "for cause", and Tennessee would save millions, and the embarrassment of public lawsuits.

The Michigan win over Tennessee creates an interesting matchup in the 2nd round, the Michigan Wolverines vs. the Duke "Uncle Toms".

Wouldn't someone like Stallings make much more sense, even if he's already passed up this position previously?

I would imagine he'd once again be on the short list given what he's done @ Vandy.

No doubt. Leaving a position as THE man in Louisville for a place where he'd be #3 on the pecking order behind football and womens bball. No chance.
