  • Anybody see Bobby Knight interview on CSN Chicago?

A coworker just told me saw David Kaplan interviewing Bobby Knight on CSN Chicago and the topic of Bobby coaching came up. Bobby said to tell him where and what the situation is and he'd consider it. Coworker said his response was that, "I've got you coaching in Peoria next season." Anybody see or hear this?

Well, it would put butts in seats.

And he'd immediately be the best coach in the league.

        Who said that? David Kaplan?

I don't believe it will happen.

was he the best coach in the last league he coached in? Since he went to Texas Tech most of the Big 12 have hired away new coaches from mid-majors or hired guys who weren't even coaching college basketball - who are still there and doing better than the state he left Texas Tech in... (Texas A&M, Mizzou, Colo, Nebraska, Baylor, OU, OSU, K-State, Iowa State)
I'm just sayin'...maybe once long ago......

It would be fun to watch those who rip Knight on this board suddenly become his best buddy. They'd go from slurping Jimmy-Juice to Bobby-Juice.

Bob Knight makes around 1 million from what I was told doing games for ESPN, he will not consider BU.

Bob Knight vs JG... I would pay big bucks to see that!!!
                Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Are you really suggesting the man with more wins than anyone in men's DI college basketball history (until Coach K passes him - where did Coach K start...) isn't or wasn't better than Mark Turgeon, Mike Anderson, Scott Drew, Jeff Capel, Frank Martin, Greg McDermott and Tad Boyle?

                  Come on, T.

Bob Knight has forgotten more about basketball than those guys will ever know.

                  His numbers speak for themselves.

                    T. Once again you are right...Many years ago BK was a very productive coach (if you don't mind your players being kicked, choked, etc). However, his last several years at Tech were poor. His recruiting had slipped considerably and he was no longer a winner. Why would we want him? To put butts in the seats that someone suggested. That would get old as the win-loss percentage dropped. Forget BK...Who wants him?????

OK, lets all give Bobby Knight his due. He is a Hall of Fame coach. But his day has come and gone. He is not a candidate here, and that is good. Let's concentrate on the potential candidates.

If you hire a guy like that, you step out of the way.

Honestly, I didn't see this, was just wondering if someone else did...

I figure there's next to zero chance he coaches at BU, but I'd welcome him if he did... And apparently Kaplan at least made the idea a possibility to him.

Poor only by the standards he set.

I think every BU fan would take four NCAA trips, including a S16 and another NCAA win in six seasons.

I agree with DC - he's not a candidate here.

Tyler Durden -- I have already answered your question in the post you apparently read but missed it...

                            maybe once long ago...

Hey -- Willie Mays is still alive and not playing for anyone -- should the Cubs sign him...after all he has more hits and homers than the guy who the Cubs have currently!

                              It was rhetorical.

                              We disagree and that's ok.
