this fits precisely with what some predicted...
look east for a guy with a career record well under .500 for our next HC

I'm all for interviewing multiple candidtates so Bradley can get the coach who the admin. feels will best lead us into the future, but I'll be disappointed if Fife ends up being our next coach. We wouldn't know for a few years how things would turn out, but the hiring itself would make me feel like we're settling.

LOL...If Indiana fits the "scope of EAST" then about 1/3rd of the country fits it..

Im glad he is here. I don't think he will get the job, but he has shown mass improvement there, I give him that.

btw -- Fife has indeed shown himself to kinda be a yes-man to Bobby Knight....and intensely loyal to those above him...
this may be a helpful trait............

he even stood up and supported Knight in the choking incident...

I like people who show loyalty.

Why not support Bobby Knight if he wanted to?

The first article kinda sounds like the Sam Maniscalco situation.

Not an "exciting" hire if he is chosen, but I will refrain from criticizing him until he loses a home game we should win, gets a T in a close game, or makes some substitutions I don't like.

Neither did Coach Les, doesn't mean he isn't the right man for the job.

                          The sky IS falling!!!

Seriously, He may be a good coach who can succeed down the road, but I was hoping for someone who would impress current players and recruits. I don't think he would do that. I could see him over achieve with players similar to Bo Ryan, but not very exciting. I hope he is just one interview in the process.

He does have an overall winning record in conference play though. That couldn't be said about his potential predecessor.

Can we just change the name of the board to 'JimLesFans.com' already? A mediocre-at-best coach loses his job, and all of the sudden it's rip the president, rip the AD, rip potential coaching candidates, applaud when guys transfers or ask out of their LOI's, and pat posters on the back because of 'warnings' of some sort...I thought this board was founded to combat all of these things that used to go on at another forum. I guess not.

OMG!!! "Hopefully we can land him". A mediocre record at best! No coaching accomplishments to speak of. We gotta do better than this! Who wants the "General" at Bradley practices?? The General at Bradley practices is going to bring back the "luster"? Please.....
