I am really sick and tired of all the complaining about President Glasser. Please give me a break.

She fired a coach who never finished better than fourth in the conference in NINE years. NINE! And NEVER contended for an MVC title. NEVER. Don't act like she blew something up that was firing on all cylinders, because it wasn't. Period. As much as I like and admire Jim Les, one look at the W-L record tells you that.

People can complain all day long that we are losing a great recruit in Remy Abell but, come on, who is to say that he would've been great at BU. Anthony Thompson was a top-100 recruit...how'd that work out under Coach Les & Co.?

One last thing: how about at least showing the lady some respect by calling her by the correct name? It's G-L-A-S-S-E-R. And I give her and Dr. Cross credit for making the right move, despite the likely consequences of losing Sam, Abell, etc. Best of luck to all of them but I ain't worried about losing them.

Notice the difference between how NC State handled the Lowe firing versus how Bradley handled the Les situation..... I think that's where people have the problem.

I can only speak for myself, but l have more of a problem with the process of the firing than the firing itself. Every administration has the right to fire coaches who either do not reflect the values of the university or do not get the results wanted by the university. A lot of coaches get fired, but the lack of respect shown in this firing process to a person who was an alumn and important part of Bradley history is extremely embarrassing to me as a Bradley alumn. Yes, I agree that there will be good recruits that will be gotten when the administration gets a new coach that relfects its new values, but in addition to not badmouthing the administration, why are we badmouthing players and recruits who do not think that the current Bradley actions is not what they signed up for and what to change universities? The new coach being hired can only tell the recruit how he wants to play basketball. not what integrity and values of the university are, that is mainly demonstrated by the actions of the administration.

I kind of agree DC..there were 3 camps it seems....pro=JL,anti-JL(which I think were very very few on this board) and those that understand why the administration looked to make a change. On paper it looked good for next year but we've had that look alot....."best recruiting class"....we pretty much say that every year too.....


My problem is trusting JG to make the right choice....but I guess that's my problem

Well said. This is my opinion as well. This Administration has not earned my respect as a result of the firing process among other things. You are correct integrity and values are important and that is what needs vast improvement with the current Administration!

They're not immune to criticism, it also comes with the territory. But there's no good way to remove a coach, and I think it's a bit premature to be saying some of thing harsh things about them that some have said. There will be plenty of time to rip and criticize if they make a bad hire.

I can understand the decision to fire JL... I thought that he should have been given one more year for a lot of good reasons as well. However, there are professional ways in which an Administration can handle a firing. This Administration failed miserably in that account!

Oh ya, PLENTY of time to rip if they make a bad hire...

But I guess that's expected when you can a guy as well liked as Jim was, as well as when you factor in what he was misssing last year with what he was bringing in/back from last year.

Then you throw in the lesser salary for new coach (likely at least considering JL buyout) and I'd say the odds are against the admin of looking good on this one.

The criticism of the firing is a two way street folks.

JL is a smart guy, and made some intelligent behind the scenes moves on his own part.

This was a chess match for sure.

The President and Dr. Cross are doing what they feel is best for BU. I happen to agree with them, which makes it easier for me to accept.

JL is doing whats best for JL and his family, which i also support.


In the end, its going to be about whom BU hires. If the hire is a good one, BU will be fine.

If its not we are doomed to the same level, or worse, than we had.
