You very well could be right. I wouldn't do it until we have a coach in place, but many people disagree with that.

Yeah let's hold these kids hostage while we wait for our new coach to be named - that's a GREAT idea.

Hold him hostage? He he signed a LOI and the Spring signing is a few weeks away. His handlers can speak to whomever they like. Releasing him now would not do us any good. We will have to release him at some point but why not after he speaks to our new coach? Imagine usuing a contract to your advantage?

if he wants to go, I'd let him go. Does BU no good to play hard ball with these kids. Now, I think we should hold kids to their LOIs but, again, doesn't do us any good in the end.

            1. If a school fires a coach, then any incoming player signed for the next year should be automatically released to sign anywhere. It is the fair thing to do to the incoming player who committed to the school and the coach.

            2. If a school fires a coach, then the institution should not be able to grant a release to an eligible player currently on the team until the school hires a new coach. This is fair to the school and the player.

even if there's tampering and illegal recruiting of a player under a LOI?

I wonder if Coach Les wants the players and recruits to stay, go, or indifferent.

                    Excluding tampering and illegal recruiting.

good luck proving that one unless there are cell phone records ala Kelvin Sampson.

IMO, Coach Les would want the players and recruits to stay. He is a Brave.

There's basically no chance that Abell will ever be a Brave, trying to put the hooks in him (even for a short time) does nothing other than burn some bridges that BU might want to cross again sometime.

Either get a late period guy or roll it over, messing around with an unwinnable battle does no one any good.

"Once a Brave, always a Brave." I don't think Les will ever wish harm on our program. He will support us until the end.

Charlie Weiss called all of his top recruits and told them to still go to ND.

Getting fired from a company would be different than losing a coaching job IMO. In coaching you are conneted with the kids you recruited and wish nothing but the best for them.
