The "error" if you can find it in this article is this...
"Kevin is the son of Ron Bontemps, also a 6-2 guard who played for the first undefeated high school state champion, 45-0 Taylorville in 1944.
Ron Bontemps played at Illinois and was a starter on the 1952-54 AAU national championship teams for the Peoria Cats .."
while technically true.....it leaves out the important part......
...and to all of us basketball purists....this NEEDS to be corrected to give credit where it is due...
Ron Bontemps came back from the war and wanted to play at Illinois, but the head coach there had the group called "The Whiz Kids" and Bontemps wanted to play not sit the bench -- so he transferred and starred at tiny Beloit College which became a national basketball power when he was there in the late 40's & early 50's
