  • From a Kansas fan....

This will be an interesting match-up. I'll admit that we've had problems the last few years in the first round games (losing to Bucknell last year), but this is a completely different roster, so hopefully we won't be so tight this time.

All I know about you guys is that you have a scary 7 footer. How are you guys with 3 point shooting? We always seem to run into teams that start bombing 3 pointers, even with a defender in their face.

Anyway, good luck to you on Friday.

Bradley is one of the few mid-major teams that is better on the inside than outside. Teams that don't ordinarily use a zone have played zone against BU.

Bradley's season has mirrored Kansas' a little. Both teams have very good talent (I am not kidding myself and know Kansas talent is superior). But both teams played under their potential early in the season, and gelled late in the season.

Kansas is lead by a bunch of freshmen and sophomores. Most Kansas players are not great 3 point shooters. Brandon Rush shoots 50% from 3 point range, but everyone else is well under 40%.

Rush is also their leading rebounder.

        Here are Bradley's stats-

KU plays a fast paced style of ball. Our guards are extremely quick...What does kill us tho @ times we seem to commit stupid TO's!

I think you'll find more energetic and aggressive defense than you're used to. Front court is pretty good, and I think we have an under-the-radar and very good sophomore point guard. I don't know much about Kansas' roster, but Bradley has pretty good depth, I think anyway.

We play in the same league as OSU, TA&M, Texas, and OU.

We play a few good, rugged defenses in our time

Are you kidding me, I watched your game against Southern Illinois thats far from the truth. Kansas has played FAR and AWAY better defense's that what Bradley can provide. Your seriously going to say you have a better defense than

                #2 Texas
                #5 Nevada
                #6 Oklahoma
                #7 California
                #8 Arizona
                #8 Kentucky
                #8 Arkansas
#12 Texas aTm(Thats their staple, they can really defend)

I guarantee you that all these teams which I listed their seeds next to play better defense than your team. The bottom line here is that Kansas has faced far and away 3 times better defenses than Bradley could provide, Im sorry but thats just the truth.

Yeah, Southern game was not a great Bradley game. Though, even in that game, they scored like 3 points in eleven minutes and were still only down by 10 or so (and then BU fell apart). Really what I was talking about though, is that the MVC plays a different brand of basketball. Big XII is a much more offensive minded conference in what I've seen.

~and don't get me wrong, I realize that Kansas and Texas both have better talent on the roster than Bradley does.

Edit: the question really is, having watched a ton of MVC and a fair amount of Big XII... is the Valley offensively challenged or defensively skilled? That's why the tournament is so much fun.

Then I guess you don't know or watch Big 12 basketball, how can you make such a statement? No offense here, Im sorry if Im coming off like a jerk but some of the comments here are really homerish. Big 12=defense, Texas and Kansas are two of the best defensive teams in the country statistically, it just so happens that they can play a little offense too.

Don't by all means underestimate us...it'll be a big mistake if you do. I know Coach Self will have our Hawks ready to play..he's tough as nails on our guys and defense is his specialty.

No underestimation here. Kansas is the better team, talent-wise. Bradley got a very tough draw, and will have to play their best game to advance.
