  • Evansville in CBI tournament?

It's rumored that Evansville has been told to stand by for a possible CBI invitation. Evansville finished 15-15, and does not qualify for the 24-team CIT tournament, which requires at least a winning record against Division I schools.
The CBI has filled most of their slots, and aqre likely waiting to see what teams are available after the conference tournaments are finished this weekend.
If Evansville were to get an invitation, and get a home game, it would be played at the PAC gymnasium on the campus of University of Southern Indiana, since the Roberts Arena is booked for Disney on Ice next week.

Disney On Ice. That still makes me angry. There is no doubt in my mind that we beat Tulsa if we get two home games instead of one

Well good for Evansville. They had a very competitive team this year and have become more of a factor in the Valley in recent years.

Also interesting that the CBI and CIT committees all but have their entire participants picked already. I'm sure the CBI and CIT are holding a few spots for NIT bubble teams like Valparaiso and Northwestern in case they get passed over by the NIT committee. But it looks like both have well over half their teams chosen already instead of waiting until Selection Sunday night to start contacting teams.
