The only knock I have against Lusk is that his h.s. team (Trenton Wesclin) beat my high school's team (Prairie Central) in the '89-'90 state title game (A). We made a great run, undefeated that year until the championship game, where Lusk was key to the win.
    At least I know he's a winner!

I would maybe put Terry right behind Lusk,Gard, and Montgomery.
The problem I have with the Princeton coach is he has no ties to the mid-west, Keno Davis left his recruiting base to go to Providence and struggled because he was out of his area; I have heard Amaker does no interviews with the press so that would rule him out .

        Dear Paul Lusk,

As a fellow graduate of Trenton Wesclin High School who watched your Dad coach the Warriors during my time there and cheered when as a player you led them to the 1990 state championship in double overtime, I really hope you give serious consideration to the Bradley job. It's a great school with incredible tradition and a loyal and large fan base. Peoria is a wonderful place to raise your family. So "Boiler Up" for the next few weeks, and then bring your talents here and "Be Brave!" I'll be cheering the loudest in Section 1 when you are introduced.

You are too cruel, BUSongwriter! I have a feeling you DID see my post and just wanted to rub it in!
Now we're on the same team (BU) - that's all that matters I guess.

I moved to Florida a few months after that heart-breaking loss just to get away from it all. No, actually my family moved there, so I tagged along with them and finished h.s. down there.

              Get Fife now

we need to get dan fife now while we can...he has ties in Indiana and can win with mediocre talent, which is what we have whether we want to admit it or not..i know for a fact he is very interested after talking to a local hs coach who is friends with him...good pickup for us.

I am sure you must mean Dane Fife. Dan Fife is his father, and he was an assistant at Michigan a number of years ago, and is now a high school coach at Clarkston, Michigan.
Dane Fife has coached at IPFW since 2005.
In 6 seasons his record is a really lousy 82-107-
                2010-11 18-12, 11-7 RPI 176
                2009-10 16-15, 9-9 RPI 224
                2008-09 13-17, 8-10 RPI 228
                2007-08 13-18, 9-9 RPI 218
                2006-07 12-17 RPI 243
                2005-06 10-18 RPI 291

His team has only had 2 marginally plus .500 seasons out of his 6 seasons, and only once finished with a +.500 record in the extremely weak Summit League. They have never played in an NCAA game, and never made any postseason tournament. Despite the IPFW Mastodons playing in the extremely weak Summit Conference, after 6 seasons Fife has never finished higher than 4th seed. Isn't that what everyone wanted Jim Les fired for? He has never finished with an RPI in the top 1/2 of D1 schools, and this year's RPI of 176 is the first season better than 218.

Maybe Fife will eventually get a better job, but I do not see any possibility Bradley would hire someone with such a poor D1 record.

I would like BU to hire Donald Trump. With his accumen I think he could set up an apprentice style recruiting strategy that would automatically grant the best player on the team a draft spot with Trumps yet to be owned NBA team.

In all seriousness though I really have no idea who BU should hire. My preferences would be someone with head coaching experience, and success in their conference.

                    dane fife

yes you are incorrect in their record..they are 18-12 this season..not 10-18..he would be the best fit and we could have "the general" at some practices and be able to recruit Indiana and Illinois...which is what we need to be able to do...

Yes, you are right- I had the years in the reverse order with the records, and I have corrected that. However, the cumulative record and other data are correct.

How about Chris Collins? I bet he can recruit nationally. That is what BU needs is a coach that can get into any household regardless and make a pitch. We can always shape the staff with assistance from the mid-west.

I'd love to have him but I really think he's being groomed to take over for K...... that, or he'll go to a big-time BCS program for mucho dinero.

Agreed completely. I really like some of the names that are getting associated with our opening. If we land one it'd really take a lot of the bad taste out of my mouth.
