I can understand why Sam might want to make this move. In fact, it makes a lot of sense for him. However, I really hope he at least waits until we hire a new coach and hears what they have to say before making a final decision.
I don't think this is a good fit at all for either party. I love Sammy, but I can't see him stopping guys like Lewis Jackson. Maybe I'm just bitter.
There's a lot of great adjectives to describe SM and he's a great point guard to have when you are leading late in the game. However, he isn't the type of point guard that Illinois needs unless they plan on just playing a half court game. Bradley has been brutal on the transition offense the past few years. I'd be interested to know Bradley's fast break points over the years.
Seems that some people here were pretty accurate with their past predictions about key players leaving.
so accurate that the story is almost a cut and paste off the boards...
.....but where's the cries that the PJ Star is trying to create panic with the sky is falling headline?
Onward and upward. Some posters on this board are right, there are going to be some growing pains and if players want to leave I'm over it. Bradley basketball will still float on and people should still support that.
That's my point. You have to keep going. Sometimes the going is hard, but you keep moving.
JL did that too. He didn't stop working when the losses mounted. I am sure the players that stick this out and stay together will be that much stronger.
It's hard when the coach changes and then players leave you. But I believe the players on the roster will stick together.

there have been a lot of people who have showed weak or non-existent support of our players and head coach...
I expect it from the PJS but it came as a surprise when it comes from people claioming to be BU fans..if the shoe fits..

I wanted a change. Yet, I still bought season tickets. I still went to St. Louis. I still cheered on BU at every turn.
Now, people who CLAIM to be BU fans are saying we should "hate" the President, cheer players for leaving, and hope the next coach fails.
Or saying all the donors will be pulling their money.
I never saw people "hoping" JL failed. Maybe some were disappointed, but never hoping for failure.
Strange how that works.
As you said, if the shoe fits.
Are you BU fans or JL fans?
