Maybe I am in a drunken state because I love Illinois basketball.....

If he was transferring to Illinois State...............how would we all feel?

We'd all be pretty bummed out because then ISU might actually be good next year.

How are they similar at all lol.

Seems like you are comparing the present-day Granger to what we know so far of Brown.

The reality is that Granger shot 18% from three in his first year at BU and 30% in his second. Brown was at 16% in his first year and 29% in his second.

I wish he would at least wait and talk to the new coach before deciding on leaving Bradley, by doing this he is showing that he does not care about his teammates, wish he would stay but if he leaves for Illinois good luck in getting a lot of minutes with all the players they will have on their roster.

Here is the problem with waiting- Illinois has only 1 scholarship open for next year, and they are looking at several other options to fill it. It may not be open long. Perhaps Sam might have even been given a deadline to decide.

it appears I was, but Granger did average 11 and 19 points per game as a freshman and sophomore respectively...so the scoring is a big diff.

I hope it doesn't happen. JMO, if he wants to solidify his legacy at Bradley, he should stay at Bradley. There will always be an * in many fans minds as the guy who left...when he could have stayed. And he'd get much more playing time at Bradley.

I think Bruce could clear a scholie real quick if he wanted/needed to. I don't think guys like Joseph Bertrand are long for the Illini. Time will tell though.

For SM to stay at Bradley, would a scholie need to open up and the new coach decide to offer it before a decsion could even be made for Sam to stay in Peoria?

If staying at Bradley is an option, I would think it would be appealing to stay with his teammates and try to win the MVC next year. Or aren't the current players interested in sticking together and trying to win the MVC conference title next year?

No scholarship would need to open for Sam to stay at BU.

Staying and perhaps showing that Les was relieved of his duties prematurely could be a motivating factor for some guys, but it doesn't sound like that is the case.

Sam, and all the players, need to do what's best for them. For a lot of them, I think it's staying at BU. But it's not my decision.

I agree. I would like to see SM stay at BU. If he chooses to leave, that is fine.

I would be in that 90 percent because I'd wish Sam well and wouldn't think of him as a "traitor" for doing what he thinks is best. That's too harsh for most of us, I'm sure.

But my guess is 90 percent of us would be VERY disappointed and would remember Sam much differently than if he finishes his collegiate career as a Brave. I hope he decides the latter and secures his place among the best-loved, most clutch Braves in program history.

If the entire group stayed at BU, and went through an injury-free season and contended or won the Valley, I could see the 'this was for coach' mantra perhaps being prevalent, as well as some people contending that all we had to do was stay healthy with Les to win. Unlikely, but just a theory.
