  • MVC NCAA Bids

I just wondered your thoughts on the current state of the Valley. I know nothing is official, but Lunardi has two teams from the Horizon AND Colonial League getting in. I never thought I would see the day that the MVC would trail the number of bids from those leagues, especially when the MVC conference regular season champion doesn't even win the conference tourney.

Is the Valley as a whole on it's way down? What does it take to regain the respect that moved our championship game to a Sunday afternoon on CBS?

This morning, Lunardi said Mo State was out because they did not beat anybody outside of conference play. If they had beat either Tennessee or Oklahoma State, they would probably be dancing despite dropping the championship game to Ind St.

I agree. He has Missouri State as one of the last four out.

Yeah, and yet he has a Michigan team with an 0-7 record against the RPI top 25, and a Michigan St. team with a 1-8 top 25 record safely in! What is wrong with that picture?!

It is tough to listen to the experts when they start spinning and rationalizing the bad losses for the BCS teams.

Both those teams have far more than 3 top 100 wins and more than 0 top 50 wins.

Milwaukee has to beat Butler for the Horizon to get 2 teams in. They might, but I think Butler finally beats them on the 3rd try tomorrow night.

Agreed. That's why I feel Missouri St. still has a chance to make the tournament. Strange things have happened and can happen on Selection Sunday. And there is no way anyone knows what people are thinking in that room this week.

Michigan State top 50 wins = Washington, Illinois and WISCONSIN.

Michigan top 50 wins = Harvard & Michigan State twice.

Missouri State's only top 50 game was loss at Tennessee. Schedule was a killer.
