It sounds like we have a couple important players that don't need a release and can play next year at their school of choice right?

I believe they would still need the approval and cooperation of Bradley and a release from Bradley.
Without a release, the new school would not be allowed to offer a scholarship.

See the Sean Kowal example from NIU.

You don't want the players that are here if they want to leave, but you want to force the recruits to come here?? Color me confused.
Sorry, I must have forgotten the sarcasm button...

Obviously no one got the joke as why in the world would you ever tell anyone that seriously?!

Haha, my bad, I genuinely thought you were serious.

I believe graduating students do not need a release after graduation to play their 5th year (if a redshirt occured). But the University needs to release them prior to Grad for players to talk to other schools. Is this correct?
But I'm sure nobody has talked to Sam yet. That would break the rules!!

I think a sarcasm smiley-face is missing there, too.

YES!! Keep a ball and chain on him at all times except game time and even then lock all the doors

Look at this way...the ball and chain would have to be good for his leg muscles..improve the jumping and running power

Yes! Lets bring in Mike Leach, has there ever been a coach who changed sports and hit it big? Lets start that trend, our games would at least be high scoring.

Just saw this article on the recruits. Sounds like Les was a big reason all of them committed.

Interesting that link goes to the article "A Defining Moment for BU" rather than "changing-coach-changing-mind." Here is the article talking about recruits and how they committed to Les more than anything, what I originally meant to post.

Now talking to his dad or his dad talking to others would be quite legal.

I think the grad student transfer exception still requires a release from the undergrad school.

What is strange about the NCAA FAQs is it says rule doesn't apply to basketball but we know that this has happened, see Kevin Kruger Arizona State to UNLV.

Looks like for the sports listed in the previous post's link (basketball, football, baseball & men's ice hockey) the NCAA has a waiver by request process.
So maybe the athlete doesn't need a release since the NCAA has to grant a special waiver.
