What about the MVC. To think that the conference champion can't even get an at-large bid (at least that seems to be the conventional wisdom regarding MSU) is pretty troubling. Is Elgin going to get this conference back on its feet? Or has he done what he can and it is the individual schools that are at fault?

Bradley will have to become like a Butler or Gonzaga ... because at this rate, winning the MVC regular season only gets you to the NIT.

Add a couple or a few more teams...

Heck, it's worked into everyone else's favor...

Who would sign on for that? A super sized mid major conference means the tournament committee has an easier time eliminating any non-BCS school.

I'd say we go the other way, let's get in a 6 team conference.

This year is a failure of the league as a whole. For everyone to cause the conference to slip to CRPI 12, to have the conference champ not have a legit at-large resume for the first time in maybe 15 years, that's bad.

Of course, it's MSU's luck that when they finally win the conference, the rest of them play so bad that MSU can't use it to get an at-large bid

It all started a couple years ago when our best at-large candidates ended up with non-con SoSs in the 300s. Once you throw away credibility like that, it's tough to get back.

I attribute this to the hiring of head coaches at lower levels who dont want to risk their records..

          JL scheduled well.

          Marshall has been iffy
Jank and Phelps have been bad to awful.
