  • Other mentions of the Les firing

Just heard Mike North mention the Jim Les firing on his radio show in Chicago. For those who don't know, North used to be a sports host on Chicago radio for over 15 years before he got let go from the Score in Chicago. After a couple of failed tv ventures, he now works for Fox Sports Radio. He is heard one night a week in Chicago on WIND AM 560 in Chicago from 9 to midnight Sunday nights.

He just had his Fox Sports Radio college expert Kevin Clancy on. Assuming this is the same Kevin Clancy I'm thinking of, this would be the ex-Bradley basketball player who played under Coach Mo in the late 90's for his first two years before finishing his playing career at Loyola-Chicago. He is now an assistant coach along with Mike North at Notre Dame High School in Niles under Jim Les's brother, Tom Les. So obviously they were disappointed in the news of Jim's firing.

Kevin mentioned that Les met with JG and MC this morning where he was let go. North then mentioned that while people who do things right without cheating are let go, people like Bruce Pearl are still coaching. They then mentioned a few of Pearl's recruiting infractions and then went on to top 25 talk. North is still ragging on Pearl right now, disagreeing with an obvious Tennessee/Pearl fan!

Well, it goes to show you that Les's influence ranges far and wide!
