If Carmody gets canned at NU, he'd fit right in with the desired list of previous employers.

I can say this first hand, as I am doing work with Yale's Health System -- just because someone works at an Ivy League-associated department does NOT mean that person is in the upper-echelon of their field. In fact, it doesn't even mean they're good at what they do. Just sayin..

Or maybe it's just that you have a life outside of college basketball cyber stalking!

Given what you have stated, that search would begin and end with Mark Montgomery for me

I grew up in Indy and my family has been Butler season ticket holders since I was a little kid. Todd Lickliter would be an excellent hire. He is a pretty good recruiter and a great x's and o's coach. His teams play defense and he knows what it takes to win at a mid-major level. With the new facilities, it trumps anything he had to work with at Butler. Plus, Bradley's basketball budget is way more than Butler's.

The negative is Lickliter isn't the greatest in game coach and is known for maddening substitution patterns. He also doesn't have the best, most outgoing personality. Lickliter isn't going to "wow a room."

With all that said, the most important thing is Lickliter recruits student-athletes and is committed to graduating players. He is great guy and would be a tremendous representative of Bradley basketball. You couldn't go wrong with Lickliter and I guarantee if everyone sticks around we would be competing for a MVC title next season.

I completely agree. I have absolutely no doubt that she already has her boy all lined up, and the search committee is basically a buffer and "just for show"

Your "absolutely no doubt" is based on what, exactly?

Considering the search committee, but is it a prerequisite that the person has Peoria ties? I'm not talking "Bradley ties" here, nor am I saying they have to be a native of this area, but I'm thinking along the lines of McClain, Roberts, Ray Giacoletti, etc.

Or could it be someone from the East Coast from a private, academic institution? Maybe Pat Flannery could come out of retirement if the price is right, or the opportunity looks intriguing?

Interesting name. Isn't Butler where Bradley wants to be?? Lickliter and Stevens did what Les couldn't in the same time frame. Have to figure Graves was a big part of that and knows how to do it at an institution that is very similar to Bradley. Intriguing.

I haven't done a whole lot of reserach yet, but I hope we give Jerrance Howard from Illinois a good hard look. His biggest downside is lack of experience...has never had a head coaching job, and is not proven in the Xs and Os aspect of the game.

On the bright side he is young (30ish), great recruiter (credited for landing several of their recent Chicago kids), and is from Peoria (gives us a shot at great local talent). If he can find a couple Jim Platt-types for assistants who can help him. I think of Brad Stevens when I think of Jerrance.

I don't know if Jerrance is the right person for the job, but I hope he at least gets consideration.

Who is on your wish list?
Are you making the assumption that he would be interested?

Yes because I'm sure the board of trustees is letting her all willy nilly spend 3 million dollars for a smoke screen!

This guy over at CBS thinks Lickliter is a strong candidate too...

Lickliter & Stevens - kept going what Barry Collier and Thad Matta started.

Not saying that's bad, just different scenario.

                                And don't forget, Lickliter's 3rd, 4th & 5th seasons were 16-14 (no postseason), 13-15 (no) and 20-13 (NIT 1st round loss).
I'm not certain Lickliter is best for Bradley.
