Well, I gotta say it... it looks like the overwhelming majority of fans (almost 80%) here favor retaining Jim another year. We have had the fire-JL people telling us all year that it is the other way around, and that the majority of fans want him fired.

As a side note- there are hundreds of fans down here in St. Louis, including quite a lot of the "blue-hairs". I suspect most if not nearly all of these fans here in St. Louis do not have a laptop with them to vote in this poll. That means, in my estimation, that most people voting are the out-of-area fans, and the people who did not come to St. Louis. I have talked to numerous people down here, and I have not met anyone yet who wants Jim fired. So I believe that if these fans were added to the poll, it would be far more lopsided. The older fans don't tend to have computers or visit our site in great numbers anyway, and the huge majority of those older fans strongly support Jim Les.

So what I am saying, and others are free to disagree and I am sure there will be some who do, is that if this poll has any bias, IMO the bias strongly favors the fans who want Jim Les fired, since they tend to shout louder than the rest of us, and are more likely to stay home and not come to St. Louis. Even if you add a couple votes for the obnoxious, repeated rules-violating ones we have banned, it doesn't come close to equalling the hundreds of others who are down here in St. Louis and can't participate in the poll. I predict that by tomowwow, this poll will even more strongly favor retaining Jim, when those fans get home and vote.

I have a little "blue hair" left, I am down here as you know, I have my computer, and I voted

Actually what I think wasn't even an option. I think he has until the end of his contract to prove himself. At that time the decision will be made.

Well I would like to point out that the vote was for what you believe will happen not what you want to happen. Also, I highly doubt that people who come on here regularly didn't vote in that poll...even if they are old and in StL.

And for the record you shout just as loud as others...if not louder, and that's fine but own up to it lol

If we could see who voted in the poll I bet you would be surprised. The people that you claim are so anti-JL probably voted for another year. Just because people express their disgust in this season doesn't necessarily mean they want JL to be fired.

In all honesty, I thought that we should have fired JL until we saw the team improve during the last month! Had the poll been taken in the middle of January, I think that the results would have been very different! I am for, and voted on this poll to give JL another year, however, we need to get rid of that @##$% four guard offense!!!
              Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I think you two are exactly right. That's how I felt in January, too, Ben. Up to that point Les and BU were underachieving.

I wonder how the votes of the banned posters would affect this poll.

Oh sorry, I misread the poll. It asks what you think will happen, not what you want to happen.

So the vast majority think Les is coming back. That doesn't mean the vast majority thinks Les should stay. I saw DC's post first and thought the poll was a different question.

So basically what we are seeing here DC is that the anti-Les crowd who has dominated these boards over the past couple of years with their incessant cries to get rid of Les are not anywhere near as big in number as it seems. And because of that, they fit the classic definition of a very "vocal minority"!

And with that said, I am so glad to see the poll numbers turning out the way they are. I think most intelligent fans saw how things really played out this year and are already looking forward to what should be, barring injuries, a great season next year.

I voted for what I think will happen and it is biased by what I want to happen. I suspect most people voted that way, even if they don't know it - therefore this shows strong support for Les.

I forget how we can see who voted for which option - can we still do this?

(But that speech did not happen in real life..)
Yeah, I don't know what we do with AT. He showed the other night against Drake, and even in a few spots last night that he has great potential (I know, maybe the most overused word in the English language sometimes). All I can say is sometimes things click when people least expect it, and maybe next year will be the year that Sticks can finally make a solidly consistent contribution to this team.
