I hate to go vulgar but this guy is a major a-hole!


He doesn't call a T when Ragland CLEARLY throws a ball right into Will's chest 3 ft from him and yet calls one against Drew when we apparently got too close for their liking...

Someone really needs to do something about these renegade officials...


They cost SIU and cost us a chance to get back in the game...


And I'll add that I think Elgin is a jerk as well because it looks like the fix is in based on what I have seen and what he's said so far the last couple days

Just called a T on Blair for no apparent reason now, at least no reason I could see from the replay.

the "T" on Blair was because when he grabbed the rebound away from Dyricus, he hollered "back off Fu**er" and the ref, Olson, was right there and made the proper call.

Now-- the "T" on Andrew Warren was so totally bogus, that Drew almost got a 2nd T getting up in the ref's face trying to ask what was the "T" for!!

As the players were walking to the other end of the floor, one of the players bounced the ball (it might have been Andrew but I think not) and it went off someone's foot and scooted all the way the length of the floor...
and the ref that called the "T" wasn't even looking in that direction but saw the ball go shooting by and simply thought that someone had thrown in off the end of the court so he looked up and Andrew was the only player he could conclude was close enough to have been the offending player so he whistled the "T".
If anyone saw it differently -- let me know but that's how I saw it.

heck no -- Elgin always wants the higher seeds advancing -- he probably gave a bonus after the game to each of the refs...

I thought Warren rolled the ball to the exact opposite end of the floor where the inbounds would be taking place. Did it really hit someone's foot?

Drew rolled the ball down the floor (not off anyones foot) and not right @ the ref so he t'd him up. Probably wouldn't have happened if not in the Valley Tourn.

Was sitting beside a long time ref and he said they had to call it because they are being evaluated for the NCAA Tourn and it would have counted against him if he didn't.
Most of these guys working this weekend will work in the NCAa Tourn so they can't be as bad we might think.

^ What he said about the Warren T, it almost looked like Drew was trying to roll the ball to the ref but just had bad aim and the ref wasnt looking until it rolled past him, and thanks for the clarification on the Blair T, on TV the announcers were clueless and thought he threw an elbow and you cant hear what was said.

No reason to dig/cite examples for an "agenda" against the MVC this season.

Now that the season is over and tourney is almost over... Nobody in the MVC warranted at-large consideration. Nobody.

The only thing those officials should be getting ready for is either

a) a middle school girls basketball city tournament

b) the unemployment line


I've seen some bad Valley tournament officiating but this year has taken the cake!

Sadly you have Janssen who is great some times and really bad others and the worst of them all in Pollard in the final game of the night and they can't get half the calls right or decide between a block or a charge or who a ball went off right in front of them yet can see a loose floor board 3 minutes in...


These guys are all CLOWNS and should be stated as such and this is part of my why the Valley will never be more highly respected in that:

1) Elgin is just a mouthpiece and isn't worth the hot air that comes out of his mouth

2) they don't pay enough to get good officials all the time

3) the scheduling for most teams is atrocious


They wonder why they're now the 12th best conference in college basketball...just those 3 things amount to quite a bit of that!

In a perfect world, Elgin should clean house and get a new set of ref's to work MVC games and pay the money for quality officiating. It isn't going to happen though!
