I was critical of Warren, throughout his career. I was not one who repeatedly called him 'soft' like some, but I did find him to be selfish and the type of player who was more concerned with 'getting his' than winning. I'm not here to say I was wrong when I said it, I'm not sure I was. But I am here to say that I don't think that that's who he is today. His play the last couple games was the definition of team ball. Last night I saw him, while hot, defer to DSE because DSE was hotter. On senior night it was apparent once we got the lead that he knew it was not only his night, but Dodie's as well. Through the late season MVC games Warren looked like he finally got it, that he needed to hustle all game, that sometimes the shot wasn't his, but sometimes he needed to take the team on his back and deliver.
Like I said, I'm not saying I was wrong before, but that what I thought doesn't hold true now, and that remembering that these are young men in the stage of their life where they grow the most is important. I hope that for AW's sake he and the team get to go further and would love if they played on into Saturday, Sunday and beyond.
