Ken Kavanagh sounds like he plans to upgrade the FGCU coaching job

Sounds like Ken has been getting deluged with calls expressing interest

This writer throws out a few names. I don't see KK considering anyone like Quin Snyder, who has some issues in his past-

FGCU started the season 3-13...they then won 7 of their final 14, including 4 of their last 5, and really seemed to improve immensely late in the season if you look at their game results.

Could it be a Les & KK reunion? I know I know, he hasn't been canned yet but we all know KK is holding the spot open pending the decision on Les. That would probably just encourage our current players & recruits to flee even more LOL. Just follow Les to hot & sunny Florida.

I doubt FGCU could afford a coach like Les or Snyder. I would not expect that job to pay over $250,000/year. The former coach made $150K with a max of $180K if he stayed. I'd expect the new coach to be hired initially around $250K max. That eliminates a lot of candidates.

Now that Merf's regular season is over I am sure he is ready to head south.

Based upon Merf's "history" I'm not so sure KK would want or accept him. Plus, I'm not sure Merf is a step up from what they had.

Not sure I agree here. Merf and KK go back 20 years to their time at Bowling Green. There's other things I heard regarding Merf's departure that aren't for the board that would probably endear him to KK even more. Whether or not Merf ends up there, who knows. But it won't be because of any rift between the two or because of anything that happened at BU.

Never BB. I enjoy your insights. Right now you are more "connected" to the scoop at BU than me and I value your thoughts.
