I don't think he made that number up because I was told by someone with access to that information that the drop count for the ISU games was 7,800 and change.

7,871 is a bad showing for the ISU game, but here's something that's even scarier... Our largest crowd before the ISU game was roughly 6,100 and we had a game with less than 4,000 in the seats.
      Just the facts...

I would say this is true, barring personal relationships with the coach. I could see if someone was a friend of the coach, siding with him. I cite Chuck Buescher as an example. No one would not call him a BU fan, yet he chose to leave his role with the university for family loyalty, and I commend him. If Jim Les' great aunt, or best friend for that matter, is a major contributor, who would blame her pulling their support?

I hate the thought that high rollers would try to exert their influence, and I hate the thought that people would listen to them. If you are giving money to help your school, fantastic. If you are giving money so you can have a say, keep your money, IMO.

I hope she would say that. I don't want anything leaked to the public before the season is over.

We've never had butts-in-seats numbers before, so we are comparing your covertly acquired top-secret access numbers to tickets sold attendance figures of the past, and gawking at the difference. Not valid. Give me butts in seats vs. butts in seats, and I'll listen.

So now you are suggesting the president is not being truthful?

I don't know that they are that hard to find out. I heard some similar figures yesterday from someone...

No, not at all. I did not mean that either. What I am saying though, is it is a private matter and I would think the University would only announce anything they decide after the season is officially over.

I am convinced no decision has been made, based on an email I received from the president yesterday that says that a decision would be made "once the season is over".

Yes, absolutely. I agree with this statement! I would expect nothing less from the BU President.

Everyone can certainly believe what they want to believe.

I'll stand by my statement that the decision has been made.

I think DC has to be right about this one. Doubtful a decision has been made at this point though, certainly, the administration is likely leaning one way or the other. We'll find out soon enough.

Oh I am certain a decision has been made...

Whether Les has been informed about it or not is a whole other story..

But why should she tell you, me, or anyone else even if she had made a decision?!

Like her or not, being the President of the University allows her the ability to not have to tell us jack squat til she's good and ready...

There could be many reasons why things have not made it publicly, but my first guess would be that they are waiting til Tuesday to have a press conference after they inform the staff in a Monday sit down...

Believe the numbers, don't believe the numbers. It's entirely up to you.

And I think people were only comparing the numbers for this season, tickets sold versus tickets used. A large discrepancy between the two is something to be concerned about. It indicates apathy. Apathy kills programs.

Well attendance is down everywhere and 8000 for 2 last place teams is pretty good IMO!
