BU vs. Wichita State- Friday, 6 pm- MVC Tournament notes
I had no problem with the DR article. Illinois went from last seed to champ game a few years back, I believe.
If you call 12 years ago a few.
They had some bigs that emerged into good players that season:
Lucas Johnson
Damir Krupalija
Robert Archibald
Victor Chukwudebe
How about not-so-legal streams? I've called around Madison and can't find a place that can say for sure whether they will have the game or not.
Last time I went out to watch a game they told me they would have the game 100% for sure. I got there, and they didn't. Got a free beer out of the deal. NOrmally I'd cut my losses and be happy but it was $2 beer night
The Bradley men's basketball team will begin its 32nd State Farm MVC Men's Basketball Tournament Thursday night when the Braves face Drake in the 8:35 p.m. first-round game at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
Regardless of how tonight's game may affect the coaching status, more than anything I want a win tonight because:
1) It's AW's final ride - he has been so much fun to watch and don't want to see his college career come to a close against Drake. With a win, he has the chance to have the highest single-season point total of any league player in 10+ years! He's got a shot! 20 points tonight does it!
2) The team has been playing pretty well lately, so even if they were to lose on Friday to WSU, they can feel good about how they came together and can carry it over to next season. With a win, the # of wins in the last 10 games (6) would equal their win total in the 1st 22 games of the season (6-16). They did it! Nice job Braves! 6 wins in last 9
3) My desire to follow the tournament after today would lessen immensely with a BU loss. Following the other Valley teams this year has not as fun as in other seasons. Even if BU doesn't advance past WSU, I'll definitely be into it from here on out!
Also wouldn't want Les to have gone out (if this is his last hoorah) with a loss to Drake in the 1st round of the Valley tourney.
I think having already played a game in the Scottrade arena might work to the Braves' advantage. It seems every team so far has taken a long time to get used to the arena and start shooting well. I think the players feel it will be an advantage. And I don't think fatigue will be a factor tonight.
