"Stock Soars for Bielfeldt"
Numerous schools are looking to add a quality big guy in the late signing period, and Illinois took their shot at Max Bielfeldt this weekend
Bielfeldt is leading the way..getting a double-double nearly every time out on the floor...and now a legitimate Big Ten prospect.
This past weekend Bielfeldt made his official visit to Illinois, and the trip went very well.
“It was a really good experience,” said Bielfeldt. “I have seen the campus before, but this was a great experience ...
I got to know the team and got to know everyone a lot better.”
“My whole family has been great and they have supported me 100 percent,” Bielfeldt explained.
“They want me to choose a school that I love and not the one they love.
While Bielfeldt is in no hurry to make his college choice, he does think the decision will come in the near future.
“I am planning on making my decision not this week or anything, but sometime in the next couple of weeks.”
However, a separate premium story on guard Chris Colvin suggests that Illinois will or already have offered him as well for 2011 even though on paper the Illini have NO open scholarships.
What it means is that someone for sure is going to get booted....Bertrand, Head, and Griffey get the least playing time...and that if Max hesitates the open ride might go to Colvin..
