The Manual - Central game is always big, but a few odd things about last night's game...
they chose not to move the game to a bigger venue as they have done many times in the past...
and so the gym at Central was packed and overflowing almost an hour before tip-off and thus security closed and sealed the doors so no more people could even get into the building or lobby...
some people were upset -- but it was as it was....still well over 2500 saw this game...
Central really put it to Manual...
Manual was even held scoreless for the entire 2nd quarter...
Central -- who were only 1-4 in the MidState Conference, beat Manual (who came into the game at 3-2) 79-48!!
Manual's D-I recruit, Jeff "Keke" White (Stokes) was held out of the game...
the explanation given was...
"sustained a minor injury in a Tuesday practice and is expected to play next week when regional tournaments begin."
BUT -- White had a "walking boot" on his left foot, a form of treatment generally reserved for more than just a "minor injury"... hmmm....
THIS IS MANUAL'S 4TH STRAIGHT LOSS -- for a team that was once ranked statewide as high as #2-3...
