Go ahead and penalize/suspend the coach. But the talk of police reports, filing charges, civil lawsuits....please. On any given night you see worse fouls or flagrant fouls that have more contact than this. The District Attorney made the right choice. Keep the police and courts out of it.
but if you throw chairs, punch officials, attacks your own very fans, whip your players like slaves, and choke them, then you are HOF material...
Assuming you are talking about Bobby Knight, when did he punch an official or whip his players? Knight may be an edited word, but he knows basketball very well. If you are going to criticize him, please be accurate. I'm also unaware of any undefeated seasons with an NCAA championship at Holy Cross.
I can do all things through pasta, which strengthens me.

Might want to read up on the history of Knight....... The whipping was just a thoughtless joke where Knight failed to think before acting/talking. Kind of like his ill-advised rape comment........
And now the coach resigns....... Both the player and coach agree to appear on Good Morning America to discuss the incident. Coach apologized on air and the player refused to accept it. Coach then calls a team meeting and despite pleas from the team to stay, he resigns.
I saw the headline of this on yahoo and was thinking the coach put a smackdown on this kid, but then I saw the video and had to play it 3 or 4 times. I couldn't believe how lame this kid is, almost looked as if he flopped on the coach LOL.

since you brought it up...has anyone noticed...
Bob Knight frequently does high profile ESPN games and over and over -- you catch little things he says and innuendos...
that he still deeply hates someone or something at University of Indiana....he obviously resents anything and everything Hoosier...
and couple that with his refusal to ever go back there, even for his own IU HOF induction...it is an interesting topic.....
of course the fans at IU still worship and revere him, and some would even like to hire him back as head coach!!!
BUT -- I guess my question would be...has anyone ever held a grudge so solidly, strongly, and for as long as Bob Knight has clearly held his deep-seated grudge against Indiana...and if he abhors them so much, then why do the people there at IU still worship the guy?
If he hates them so much that he won't even set foot on their campus to be honored, and if (as is believed) he has steadfastly demanded to NEVER be assigned to cover a game for ESPN involving Indiana - even though he'd be the logical choice to get enormous ratings....and he's even demanded that the subject of him coaching there and ANY topics even referring to Indiana not be brought up during any broadcast that he ever does for ESPN......
then what in the world is behind such bitterness and hatred???
I've never been a fan of Kinght either....and he doesn't seem to bring much to a broadcast in my opinion either. I think he was a very good coach and obviously knows what he's talking about but that doesn't always mean he conveys messages very well.

Chet's been back although not recently -- it was only after about 25 years that Chet decided to come up with reasons that had never kept him from returning to the campus before that.
Squeaky's been back many, many times and is so totally humbled and NOT bitter that he doesn't even equate to this discussion.

I understand that Chet's been back but he held that grudge for a LONG time. I know Squeaky's been back and is back "in the fold" but it wasn't always that way.
Remember your question was "has anyone ever held a grudge so solidly, strongly, and for as long as Bob Knight has clearly held his deep-seated grudge against Indiana?" Chet definitely did.... Squeaky can be debated.
