If Walt were a better player he probably would get as many shots as RR. I like Walt but Rayvonte is a really good player. Quite a steal for Drake.

I like Rayvonte and think he will be a fine player -- but his 40% FG accuracy and 30.8% 3-pt accuracy...point to how he gets his production -- plenty of shots.

he has taken almost as many shots as the next two guys on his team combined, and he takes roughly the SAME number of shots per minute that he's on the floor as Andrew Warren does...
        the difference..Warren averages 18.8 ppg , Rayvonte 13.9

Sounds like a lot of NBA guys you here about. They might score, but with how many shots?

          Good point Tornado

So now we are comparing Rayvonte to Andrew Warren?

Rayvonte already is a fine player. He leads his team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks and free throw attempts. He's a freshman. Not many freshmen lead their team in that many statistical categories at this level.

He is the best freshman in the league by far. Andrew is the best senior in the league by far. Both very good players.

Good point. I still like Rayvonte but did forget about McDermott. I would take both of them at Bradley if they feel like they want to transfer.

Unless I'm mistaken, McDermott is leading the entire league in rebounding.

Rice has a big body for a freshman and is pretty impressive as well.

                    Ok. I missed on McDermott

Still is hard to do. I did say NOT MANY, so I was covered there

It is good for the league to have good freshmen. Hopefully the league is improving--this year has been ugly.

He's actually now 1 block behind Kraidon Woods for the team lead. He's also 2nd on the team in assists. They don't list this stat, but I can guarantee you he also leads Drake in deflections.....he deflects a lot of passes that lead to steals for teammates. I'm guessing the coaches do keep that stat.

t.....he takes an average of 12 shots per game, it's not like he's a shameless gunner. And, I gotta say, I have never seen anybody have as many shots go in an out as has happened to him this year. He's also the guy who ends up with the ball at the end of shot clocks when he has to throw up something crazy or risk a violation, which doesn't help his FG%....and inflates his shot numbers. Not many freshmen get put in that situation.

I'd say he was deserving of the award for the week. 19.5 ppg, 6 rpg, 3 steals per game, a couple of blocks and 0 turnovers. He's every bit as good as I had hoped for.

I agree with you on many things, but Rayvonte Rice is a player and I would take him over any guard on our team right now, save Warren. He's a freshman, so you know his percentages are all going to improve over the next three years.

This is true, as Andrew Warren takes 15.7 attempts per 40, 22% of his team's shots, and Rice takes 15.3 attempts per 40, 20% of his teams shots. HOWEVER, if you are comparing shots per minute, or per 40, you can't say the difference can be seen in points per game. You would have to say the difference is points per 40, otherwise it is comparing apples to oranges.

Andrew Warren is scoring 20.7 points per 40.
Rayvonte Rice is scoring 18.5 points per 40.

Also, through extrapolating the per 40 production, Rice is averaging more rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks than Warren.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...
