    THE STORYLINE
Bradley and Illinois State will complete their annual two-game Interstate 74 Rivalry series Tuesday night when the Redbirds play host to the Braves in a 7:05 p.m. game at Redbird Arena to be televised regionally on the MVC-TV Network (FS Midwest and Comcast SportsNet Chicago) ... Tuesday's winner will become the No. 9 seed for next week's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, while the Bradley-Illinois State loser will be locked into the No. 10 seed.
    THE REDBIRD STREAK
Aided by its 79-78 overtime win Jan. 26 at Carver Arena, Illinois State has won four straight in the series, its longest winning streak against Bradley since its program-best 7-game run versus the Braves from March 4, 1982 through Jan. 26, 1985 ... Illinois State's current 4-game series winning streak matches the second-longest the Redbirds have enjoyed in the series ... Since that overtime thriller Jan. 26 at Carver Arena, Illinois State followed with another overtime win Jan. 30 against Drake, but has lost six straight February games ... The Braves followed with a 61-41 loss Jan. 29 at Wichita State, but have rebounded to win 4-of-6 so far this month.
    AGAINST THE REDBIRDS
Tuesday's game will be the 112th meeting in the all-time series between Bradley and Illinois State ... Bradley owns a 61-50 lead in the all-time series, but Illinois State has won four straight against the Braves to match its second-longest series winning streak ... Illinois State owns a 31-18 home record against the Braves, winning three straight at home versus Bradley ... Ninth-year Bradley head coach Jim Les owns a 10-8 record against Illinois State, including a 3-5 record at Redbird Arena and a 2-5 head-to-head record against fourth-year ISU head coach Tim Jankovich.
    ABOUT THE TIEBREAKER
Bradley and Illinois State enter Tuesday's game tied for ninth in the MVC standings and could end the year tied for ninth by each splitting their final two games ... Based on Valley tie-breakers, Tuesday's winner will be the No. 9 seed for the State Farm MVC Tournament and the loser will be the No. 10 seed ... A Bradley win Tuesday will give the Braves a split in the regular-season series against Illinois State, which will invoke The Valley's new non-conference strength of schedule tie-breaker: Bradley (27, Illinois State (335) ... An Illinois State win Tuesday will give the Redbirds the series sweep ... Southern Illinois begins the week in eighth place, two games ahead of both of its in-state Valley rivals, but the Salukis (235) will win potential tiebreakers versus both Bradley and Illinois State based on the non-conference strength of schedule tiebreaker.
    ADD HIM TO THE LIST
Already without the services of preseason All-MVC picks Taylor Brown and Sam Maniscalco, Bradley's lineup took another hit Saturday at Tennessee-Martin ... Senior guard Dodie Dunson, Bradley's starting point guard and second-leading scorer at 10.4 ppg, suffered an injury to his right knee in practice Thursday and was held out of the game against the Skyhawks ... Dunson's status for Tuesday's game at Illinois State is expected to be a game-time decision.
    LEMON AID
One of The Valley's top-scoring reserves, freshman guard Walt Lemon Jr. was inserted into the starting lineup for an injured teammate for the second time this season Saturday at Tennessee-Martin ... In his first starting assignment for the injured Dyricus Simms-Edwards, Lemon Jr. responded with a team-high 14 points Dec. 8 at #1 Duke ... In Saturday's non-conference finale at UT-Martin, Lemon Jr. again came through with a team-best 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor.
    YOUTH MOVEMENT
In Saturday's 81-75 win at Tennessee-Martin, six of the eight Braves to see action were either freshmen (two) or sophomores (four) ... The youthful Braves combined for 152 of the team's 200 individual minutes and accounted for 61 of the 81 points and 25 of the squad's 31 individual rebounds.
    CALENDAR EFFECT
January has by far been the coldest month for ninth-year Bradley head coach Jim Les ... The Braves are 33-51 (.393) in January under Les, while playing 51 of those 84 games without the likes of Phillip Gilbert (missed nine January games to injury), Jeremy Crouch (eight), Daniel Ruffin (six) Will Egolf (eight), Andrew Warren (eight), Dodie Dunson (10), Dyricus Simms-Edwards (two), Taylor Brown (10) and Sam Maniscalco (10) -- 71 individual games missed ... Aided by its 4-2 record so far this month, February is Les' winningest month (40-29, .580) and is second only to November (.660) by percentage ... Not coincidentally, the Braves have been without the above nine players for just 26 February games due to injury: Warren (11), Egolf (eight), Dunson (10), Brown (6) and Maniscalco (6) -- 41 individual games missed -- though Brown and Maniscalco will not return this season.
    CHANGING TREND
In Bradley's first 12 league games, the Braves dug themselves deep first-half holes by averaging just 25.1 points on collective 38.4 percent (114-297) shooting from the field in the opening half ... Bradley has led at halftime in four of the last five games, however, by averaging 35.2 points on a combined 51.4 percent (71-13 shooting from the floor.
    FEBRUARY OFFENSE
In the season's first 22 games, the Braves averaged just 63.2 points per game while shooting 41.3 percent overall from the field ... The cold shooting contributed to Bradley's 6-16 record through the end of January ... While posting a 4-2 record so far this month, the Braves are averaging 71.0 ppg on 47.6 percent shooting from the floor.
    PAINT POINTS
Bradley has outscored the opposition, 746-622, in the paint this season ... During the first six games this month, Bradley's paint presence has been a focus and the Braves have outscored the opposition by a 218-104 count in the lane, an average advantage of 19.0 points per game.
    FEWER THREES
The sacrifice the Braves have made to control the paint has led to a big discrepancy in 3-point shooting ... The opposition has made more 3-point field goals than Bradley in eight of the last 10 games, outscoring the Braves by an 86-41 margin from behind the arc in those 10 outings ... Bradley is averaging just 4.2 3-point field goals per game in the last six games, while allowing 9.5 triples.
    AND FEWER TURNOVERS
Bradley is 2-12 this season when committing at least as many turnovers as the opposition, but the Braves have been taking better care of the ball of late ... So far this month, the Braves are averaging just 9.5 turnovers per game ... In the last six games, Bradley boasts a 1.4 assists-to-turnover ratio ... Strangely, in five of Bradley's last six games, the team that committed more turnovers has won the game.
    LOOKING AHEAD
Bradley will close out the regular-season by hosting Drake in a 7:05 p.m. game Saturday night at Carver Arena ... Saturday's game will be Senior Night at Carver Arena: Bradley seniors Dodie Dunson and Andrew Warren will be honored in a pregame ceremony and will address the crowd after the game.

If it has to be a series split in 2010-11, better to win the last game at B-N....

This is the one everyone will remember over the spring/summer untill the start of the 2011-12 season!

      Go get em BU..

Interesting that Sam M will not be honored Saturday.....technically he is a senior and he does not have to come back as stated in previous threads. Sam Singh was in multiple Senior Nights. Not that it means anything, just interesting.

I would have to think that if things are hanging in the balance for next year, this game might push it one way or another. I really hope we win.

Singh used his 5th year senior night appearance to announce his 6th year.
Only because it was anounced earlier did he make that appearance.

Adams did have 2 senior nights because it is not as common for a walk-on to play a 5th year (a spot opened due to POB's later NBA decision)

            Keep your fingers crossed

for those out of towners that don't get MVC-TV
and I don't know if they've streamed MVC-TV games in the past
this is the first day I've seen this site up and running with current games!

If you get a pop-up with that, a big white screen with only download & play now on it, I just close it.

Hopefully tomorrow the game shows up...

My Dish Network guide shows that the STL Blues game is the game playing at 7:00, and that the Braves game is showing a recording at 10:00 tomorrow night of the game that was played earlier.

It seems like there have been more games this year than in past years that are NOT available on B.tv or any free stream for us out-of-towners. This was definitely the worst year for value in purchasing the B.tv package..... and it will be my last.

You may want to check for an alternate channel. Directv looks to have the game tape delayed on the main FSNMW channel, but live on an RSNa channel..

Is MVC-TV on Comcast? If so, what channel number.
