I agree -- but other teams we were battling for last place had almost NO close losses, most of their losses were demoralizing -- which maybe bodes worse for chances in the tourney

SIU probably thinks their loss at home to Bradley was a close loss they shouldn't have let get away.

I never, ever, ever buy into the, "man, if only we would have won a few close games, or if only we did this we would win more games" line of thinking. Every team in America can say the same thing to one degree or another.

Despite how lousy we played offensively, most of us would be looking forward to the next game instead of the next coach, and feeling decent about how we've played over the last 7 games.

Perhaps...but I can tell you that there are many of us who are actually more excited about looking forward to looking for the next coach

I used to until someone pointed out that "close wins" factor......I'd reply..nah we woulda won those no matter what...now about those close losses... with a little luck we coulda been 19-10 vs 10-19.
