I agree, nothing we say will have any bearing. However, I suspect the decision has already been made.

Again- what would you do? Play for a replacement coach who you don't know, didn't recruit you, and holds your future in his hands, and on a team that will be rebuilding with no chance of making the NCAA tournament? Or go elsewhere and play for a guy you and your father know well, who wants you, needs you, and and has a good chance of making the NCAA tournament (something you have always wanted but not yet tasted).
Believe what you want, but it's a no-brainer to me.
Well how do we know sammy would want to stay here either way then...

we know that we arent going to the ncaa next year, either way

On sammy, or Coach Les, or both?

Maybe I worded my thoughts poorly BB. What I meant was that SM would not be someone that a new coach would bank his future on and would probably design his offense based upon building the team around Stewart at PG. SM would get his minutes (though probably less mpg than at any time in his career). Of course SM would be appreciated -- he's a great kid, a team leader, and a very good mid-major PG.

I just don't see him staying if Les goes. In fact, I think any new coach will have one helluva time convincing Les' recruits to come to BU. This doesn't mean I don't want a change of coaches. It's just that we would probably have to take a step back before moving forward.

            Sammy, not the coach.
If Dave mentioned it, he has some knowledge. He does not deal in rumors. I guess that means he is not a columnist.

It's in here somewhere. I wasn't listening to Dave, but someone said Dave mentioned Sam M. will only be here is JL is the coach.

I thought players played for a school and not a coach. Last time I checked Bradley was on the front of the jersey, not Jim Les.

I guess "once a Brave, always a Brave" is just something you put on a wristband.

Nice first post joe. NOT! The kid will graduate. He's done. He fulfilled his part in the deal. If he loses his coach (and probably several teammates) he has every right to maximize his opportunities. His other option would be to get a job. Something all graduates strive for.

Gimme a break! Come on man!

Heather Best stayed at Bradley for her 5th year and played Volleyball. To each his own, I guess. Maybe comparing him to a Hall of Famer isn't fair to Sammy.

As you say, he's done because he graduated. Losing his coach and teammates should not play a part. If they did, we should have wished Danny Granger all the best and given him his release when he went to New Mexico.

If Sammy is interested in maximizing his opportunities, why not just go pro in Europe? Why even bother playing another season of college ball? Didn't we have problems last season with players playing for their own numbers and not the team? Andrew said on the radio they were all on the same page this year. How would Sammy affect a team's chemistry if he came in for one year to maximize his own opportunities? You're either playing for your team or not.

And how do we know there is another team that wants Sammy and Carl is all about that? Is someone tampering?

After our loss to Illinois State I heard Dave say (not on the broadcast), in so many words, that the loss may have cost Jim Les his job.

Rumor / Knowledge / Columnist / Opinion / simple disappointment after a loss - you decide

So which one is it?! No chance of making the NCAAs or can win the league? If we could win the league wouldnt you think we would have at least a chance at the NCAAs?

And about the "announcer" comment, no one actually said it was Snell, it was just stated that it was an announcer. Taht could be Snell, Adams, Bassone, or whoever else does the local TV feeds(dont know cause Im not in Peoria and dont get to watch the games on PBS). Dave Snell's name was never mentioned once in this thread until you said it. And just a question, but what if Snell started something along the lines of what Wessler said? That is hypocrisy at its finest that one person could say something almost identical but one person is labelled a liar and the other is treated like a saint. Just my OPINION though....

Well the original post was more wishful thinking than me saying it as a fact. It was more like exasperated, as in I'd be shocked if he left, not so much saying that you are Snell are wrong.

But I would find it very hard to believe that he would leave when he has 1 year left for only basketball...he will have his degree from Bradley. It just wouldn't make any sense.

You say that one reason he'd leave is because he wouldn't get playing time and also because the team would be "rebuilding" and wouldn't make the NCAA tournament (something he so badly wants) and he might just go to another team with a good shot at making the tournament. However, in a later post you say that next year's team should be good. I happen to agree with that, next year should be good.

So why would he leave if he's bound to be a leader of a potential NCAA tournament team, a graduate of Bradley, someone who has been on campus for the last 4 years, has the majority of his friends at bradley, I could go on, decide to leave BU with only one year left when he'll actually have time on his hands to do what he wants? If he transfers when he already has his degree he'd have to apply for grad school there and take a lot more class load than he would if he stayed at bradley (actually that's just an assumption). To me it just wouldn't make much sense to leave here just because JL is gone. What ever happened to once a brave always a brave? If he left when the going got tough I would lose all respect for him and would be ashamed to call him our team's leader the last 2 years.

Edit: jrish12 just asked one of my questions...the contradiction you had in this thread
