Did anyone catch Jim Mattson's show this morning?

He had a ton of BU callers talking about the program, this season, Coach Les, etc.

I thought the most interesting thing Jim M said was that he felt the injury to SM was the most important looking back. Why?

Jim M said he felt this year helped give DSE more playing time and proved to him that he was better than SM! I was a little surprised to hear him say that.

Overall, he said the loss of TB was the most crushing to BU.

Many callers debated Les and if he would be brought back. Mattson seemed to think the below .500 conference record might be the backbreaker.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

If he really said this, then IMO he loses all credibility regarding anything else he says about BU.

Wait, I'm confused reading this. Did he change his mind on which was more important-SM or TB?

I do agree on Sam. He was the major reason we started 4-0.

Well, I just sort of passed that comment off. I don't think you can compare the two because they are different players completely, IMO.

FTR, I know Jim and he is a big Illini fan, and doesn't really follow BU much.

But it's his opinion and he can spew whatever information he wants over the airwaves. He can't be right or wrong by making that statement since it's only an opinion.

Based on his opinion, I think BU should revoke Sam's scholarship and just go with DSE next season.

                    You are correct.

                      Wow...what are you, 12?!

The guy gave his opinion plain and simple...doesn't make it right or wrong just because you say so, but it is just that...an opinion...everyone has one and that doesnt in any way mean he loses his credibility as a sports reporter!

Heck, I think there is a certain starter that shouldn't have been starting the last month, but I obviously have a difference of opinion with the coach...that doesn't make either of us right or wrong on the situation...

Cmon DC, you're better than this! While Mattson may give more pub to the Illini he clearly wants Bradley to suceed because it gives him more to discuss on tv and radio

According to one of our announcers, Sammy will never play for anyone but Jimmy anyway

I guess, according to that announcer and a certain journalist, Sammy's BU career is likely over.

                            Mattson said this?
DSE is good and coming along every day...but ...

Sammy, if he plays his senior year here, will go over 1600 career points and almost 500 assists.

Dyricus currently has 395 pts, and 137 assists...and would have to average 20+ ppg and 6 apg for the rest of his career to catch up....unlikely

It's easy to understand what this is about. Sammy will have a degree and 1 more year of eligibility left. The NCAA allows a 5th year grad student to transfer without penalty. There are a lot of D1 coaches, including some pretty high-majors who would love to have a skilled, senior point guard. I can think of a couple in the state of Illinois, including one who doesn't even have a point guard for next year, and who knows Sammy quite well from Bradley beating his team last year. SM could have his choice where he could play, why should he stay and take a chance with a new coach who did not recruit him, and likely wouldn't appreciate his skills when there would be coaches lining up who would love to have him lead their team.
What would you do in Sammy's shoes?
