Alright, I get it. But BU still did get a road win and the only thing they can do now is try to get better, which they have been doing for the last month or so. No shock here, but 10-18 teams play like this against other 10-18 teams. The pregame line had BU winning by 5 and they won by 6. So BU was also exactly who we thought they would be as well.

Yes....especially playing without our second starting point guard.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I didn't get to watch or listen to any of it, just saw the score every now and again. Nice comeback. Would have been very easy for the guys to mail it in down 7-8 on the road, late, in a pretty meaningless game. But they didn't. That should count for something. Kudos to Jim Les for keeping them interested and competing.

I've said this before but Jordan Prosser has exceeded my expectations. I really didn't like what I heard last year and saw early this year but he has become a nice player. I don't know his upside but he rebounds well and makes shots in the paint when he gets them. He has three years left. I like that he played 38 minutes.

Nice to see Walt really score. He won't shoot well from the three line this often but he is an MVC level athlete for sure. It's good to win when Andrew doesn't have a good game.

DSE has become one of the top players in the MVC the last month to six weeks. Fills the stat sheet. I too was glad to see Milos get some play and make a couple of shots.

        Let's beat ISU now.
Yeah and it was nice to see him dunk one the other day....NOW he qualifies (to some) as an "above the rim type player."

Seriously on JP....I was a tad concerned early as he looked like a deer seeing those headlights coming but he has stuck with it, relaxed and let the game come to him.

I like how DSE and jelled also.....Think we got a keeper in JP.

          Man, chill out buddy!
I feel pretty good about a Win heading into a critical game at Redbird Arena. It was a road game and we grinded it out without yet another of our starters. So basically 3 men down, we found a way to win, shooting the ball very well too, with our underclassmen stepping up.
I was just hoping for a W, and we got it. We were pretty evenly matched when the pairings were announced.
Let's analyze how we've been playing as a whole for last 6 games (take out the 2nd half vs. UNI ) It's a heck of a lot better than the 1st 11 games of the Valley season.
Let's move on and feel halfway good about this one. I'm sure the guys are not "thilled" to win vs. that opponent, but they gained some of their confidence back. And we've been playing tough, intense basketball for 6 straight games, which I can't remember us doing last season.

Granted it's not the same UNI team with their injury issues, and we definitely could have played better defense, but personally I can live with losing at home to a team with 19 wins over losing at home to the likes of EIU, SIU and ISU red. But unfortunately there's nothing we can do about getting those games back.

We should (almost) NEVER lose at home. PERIOD.

Exactly. Our home court feels so cheap and violated due to this season and the last

Do you think this is true for every college team?

That WHAT is true....that BU should (almost) never lose at home? Yeah...I guess so.

They did beat EIU badly both times which kind of shows how poorly we played back then, the Valley going 3-7 is very bad and gets even worse when you look at the teams that lost, our bottom teams other then Ill.St. won, Wichita should not be losing games at home with their talent, wonder what Shocker fans think about them playing so poorly at home.

I wonder if they stopped going to the games.

Should every college team be expected to win almost all of their home games?

Well, agreed, but teams that finish in the bottom third of the league usually lose a majority of their home games. Let's just try to win our last two games and finish the season with winning three of our last four home games and three of our last four road games.

That would be a nice finish to the regular season after our miserable Valley start. I'd feel pretty good about the last 8 games. Whatever wins we get in St. Louis would be a bonus.
Just don't want to lose to ISU (red)...again, nor finish with 20 losses.

Superbowl #2 awaits on Tuesday night.

                            • My first sentance was my attempt at sarcasim in response to what a lot of people were asuuming was going to be an easy win. I should have used one of the emotion smiles to have emphasized that. I'll try to be a little bit more clearer about that next time. Having said that I did acknowledge the good games by JP, WL, JE, DSE and MK so I would appreciate it if you don't take my quotes out of context if you're going to criticize something I write.

Well, Bradley was favored to lose to UNI in their last game, so we did what we were supposed to do. But that didn't stop a tsunami of criticism for the team, and numerous "fire the coach" threads. So let's try to be fair and congratulate the team and coach on a nice road win!

Certainly no absolute, but generally yes. Winning on the road in college basketball is probably the single hardest daily team accomplishment in sports.
