  • Ready to "Bust" a move?

Considering the down-year of the Valley, we are in jeopardy of losing as many games (or more) as we win this season.
And this year's match-ups are surprisingly tough.
There are 5 away games this year - last year the Valley only had 3.

5 Valley teams have better RPI's than their opponents, but 4 of them are on the road, which means that for the 5 home games, only 1 Valley team (Wichita St.) has a better RPI than its opponent.

I think that 5-5 is actually a respectable record this season, considering MVC teams are probably only favored to win 3 of the 10 games. (Wichita, BU, SIU???)
If the Valley gets more than 5 wins, I'd be amazed.

So not only do WSU and MSU have to take care of bizness against the teams they face, but the way the rest of the Valley fairs plays a factor in weighing whether the league champion deserves to get an At-Large bid. A poor showing in B'Busters could make the conference look bad.

    The goal? Win 5

    I'm worried.

    George Mason WILL beat UNI.
Valpo will be a real tough out at home for MSU.
VCU is competent, but Wichita is probably better. But this is close. 0-3 for our bubble teams is a very reasonable prediction.

Murray St and Morehead St, the top 2 OVC teams, will take out the Indiana schools. I feel like Detroit is simply better than Drake, Green Bay is better than SIU straight-up. I feel like Creighton is better than Akron, but that's a close one and a roadie. And Illinois St is, well, Illinois St. And we're on the road.

The odds aren't that awful (around 10-1 or 15-1) that the MVC 0-fers this shindig.

It looks like Wichita State is an 8 point favorite tonight.

What an awful weekend so far by the Valley.
SIU continues to play well in B'Busters.
I think every Valley team right now is feeling bad about the way they're playing of late, especially Wichita St. & Missouri St. who had the best opportunities and they've blown it.

BU is gaining confidence, while other Valley teams are fading. Time to take advantage - win our last 2 and see what happens in St. Louis.
