Don't know if anyone pointed this out but KW gives his detailed explanation OTOB.

I think it goes a long way in clearing up alot of questions and complaints about what he opinied.

Thanks for the heads up. KW did a good job of talking about his views and his process of making a decision to print what he did.

His response on the forum "what I've heard, what I've learned, yadda yadda yadda" implies a little more than a hunch. He's either got info or he doesn't. We'll find out.

I don't see it that way Shaun....I think he clearly spells out the "process' he used to reach his cocnclusion. I do think you ARE correct though in that its a little more then a 'hunch."

Having the info means someone higher up told him flat out....JL will be gone.

He has some inside sources and based on his gut or feelings this is what he THINKS will happen.

And, in the end, no one knows as the powers that be can change thier minds in a heartbeat based on a number of factors.

I won't "applaud" him if his hunch comes true and I won't "chastise" him if it doesn't happen as he has clearly said he doesn't know for sure.

Maybe I'm missing some cryptic hidden message, but there is nothing in KW's message board post that adds anything to this. He does not verify this story one bit. It is still unsubstantiated rumor, which he himself has condemned.

I don't see rumors being started by someone thats using the paper to offer thier opinion.....rumors usually start on the street by fans.

I don't treally like his latest opion piece but like I stated...I read em and just look at it for what it is...another guys opinion..nothing more nothing less allthough he IS alot closer to the situation than 99.999% of us.

The fact that he spells it out and is open makes it far from a rumor.

I had a guy call me the other day and say...."I heard JL has his house for sale"...what have YOU heard? Now THATS a rumor......if people keep pasing that stuff along without taking the time to "research it"....that constitutes a rumor.


Guys like KW here rumors all the time....as he stated he is usually very slow to react as he has alot more to lose then simple fans like us. He can stop alot of rumors by investigating them and getting facts.

KW didn't say..."I heard JL is getting canned" and leave it at that.

I don't have the facts, but, in my opinion, BU MBB has gotten as much ink, email, twitter, postings, blogs, Letters To The Editor, etc by people in a 3-13 year as they did in their S-16 season!

Shows how much people care about BU MBB!

I don't have the facts, but, in my opinion, BU MBB has gotten as much ink, email, twitter, postings, blogs, Letters To The Editor, etc by people in a 3-13 year as they did in their S-16 season!

I agree but most of those fans are the hard core that will follow BU come heck or highwater....I have always guessed that at around 6000 fans (that go to the games) which is impresive.

What we are losing, for a variety of reasons, are those fence sitters, average fans and the ones we want to make permenant fans like ourselves.

You need to win most of the time and offer a good product to keep retain and draw that remaining 4ooo fans or so to reach that magical 10,000 number (or more) on a consistent basis.

However, I do very much agree with this post. KW's explanation confirms that his article pertaining to JL's status was sloppily written.

I have always been amazed at the passion and loyalty that a town of Peoria's size has for Bradley Basketball. It's truly a beautiful thing. Can you imagine what things would be like if Bradley won consistently like CU did for years? Or Gonzaga? It would be impossible to get tickets at face value....... kind of like the way it is at Duke.

Yep...I think this is being shown in the number of people still attending games this year.

I was traveling for work and was able to sell my tickets for the BU-ISU game this year for over face value. Can you believe that? Imagine if we were actually good! BU is a sleeping giant...when will the giant wake up?

Wessler says "he is sure" Les will be fired in this one. I don't know how him saying this stuff helps Bradley out. He is just hurting the university and players by saying this stuff before it happens even if it does happen. He also insulted the team and said he "tried to be nice."

I didn't feel like looking at all this. Often I see threads I think look like they are turning negative and just ignore them, because I'm really tired of reading the same negativity over and over again. It is the same statements by the same people 1000 times, I'm just sick of it and don't want to read it.

So I'm sorry I didn't know that.
