I think it is an unsubstantiated rumor that you are putting out there by saying that KW's philosophy about unsubstantiated rumors has changed drastically.

That may be true, but it's just an opinion.

when it serves him to appear ethical and proper about spewing rumors..then he says he won't do it and it is WRONG..
but when it serves him to go right ahead and do it, then he does...
As I have said before -- I read the columns in every one of the other Valley cities' papers and many times for Illniois and other schools....I have never seen even one place where the local coverage is so hostile and negative.

AGAIN -- we've seen incidents where the reporting and comments from the PJStar have unfairly and erroneously said that certain players were kicked off the team for drug use, we've seen lies and erroneous statements about the Daniel Ruffin arrest, we've seen misreporting and lies about Wilkins to Iowa State, things Bruce Weber was supposed to have said about the CPL coaches but never did say, terribly incorrect facts regarding the Jamar Smith case - namely saying it was a victim-less crime and claiming Carlwell's blood alcohol level was zero and that there really wasn't any laws broken when the entire team was breaking laws with an underage booze party that was swept under the rug, the Taylor Brown case, and many many other situations -- and most all of them that were in regard to anything that was a Bradley topic painted BU or BU players in an unfairly negative light.

I think the PJStar coverage is actually very fair and balanced.

The paper gives you a straight forward "news" view of the team from the award-winning Dave Reynolds. He has gone out of his way to be positive at times this season in fact.

Then it gives you the opionions of a Bradley-alum in Kirk Wessler. KW does or has served on the board of directors for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

On top of that, the PJStar prints letters to the editor from both sides of the JL fence, and printed dozens of fans views, hopes, and predictions in the preseason HOOPS section.

I would not want a newspaper that only gave you the rose-colored glasses view. I want a paper that gives you both sides and more!

T not quite sure where you are coming from when you say "hostile and negative". If our product was up to the standards we all want for BU basketball then maybe our PJS would not have to write the truth as some of us see it. I don't get it or maybe I do. If it goes against your opinion its unethical. O.K. now I get it. We may not all agree with what comes out of our daily but I would just not read it if it bothers you so much.

I think it is important to show that even KW didn't believe this kind of rumor-mongering was right, but apparently now he does when it serves his agenda.

And anything I write here is just my opinion, for those who keep using that lame excuse to defend KW.

Last year- he wrote the article responding to phone calls etc that Jim was fired or bought out of his contract... that is different than offering his "opinion" that his days are numbered.... For people who despise his tactics and decry his agenda, you have now given his opinion and paper 7 pages of comments!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

I'm a huge, huge JL fan but don't understand the hostility aimed at Wessler. He is offering an opinion on what he thinks will happen. That's what columnists do. Crazy what some people spend their time worrying about on this board.

My overlying thought about this - if he's referencing that Les' days are numbered, considering what he wrote last year, he wouldn't say that unless he really knew it is coming.

If it turns out in April that Les isn't gone, there will be plenty of time to rip him then. Until then, I wait and see.

Again, if you are implying he has some high-level inside information that nobody else has, including people far closer to the situation, then I don't agree. I will not predict what will happen, but it is not a done deal.

My uninformed reading between the lines makes it more of an ultimatum than a done deal.
A mid-major would be dumb to fire a clean coach in an NCAA year.
Beyond that JL already failed the beat ISU and/or win out at home parts of challenge.
