Recently - it was pretty much confirmed to me by someone else.

So why does anyone care to read anything from a flamer with an agenda out to make people mad?
Wow. You are that easily swayed by one person telling you that he is a "flamer" who likes to make people mad? I've never had that experience with Kirk. So will you change your opinion back now?

Da Coach. Im not real big on looking back. But was Jim Les your #1 candidate for the job when he was hired? Did you have an opinion at the time? As a passionate BU fan you certainly did right?

no -- he clearly said he has always thought that and it has also been confirmed by others....
the fact that you fail to confirm it isn't likely to change something he has "always thought"

Either way, if MMob thinks that then great. If he doesn't read Kirk then great. It would be hard to comment about an article I didn't read. Maybe that's just me.

It's the hearsay method...read only what others say what was written. Say only what others say about what one says.

If I'm going to take exception to something, I'm going to carefully examine original source material, because most of what is said and read in the world-even in what is considered credible publication and media-is misinterpreted and people draw their conclusions based on what is said about what was said, rather than what was said.

Exactly what I thought when I first read the story on the PJS BU site. The timing of these comments was real poor and serves no purpose for BU and the current team/potential recruits. Wait till after the season is over for these predictions.

He did not say it definitively. His exact words were:

The Braves on Tuesday night reminded us why their season record is 9-18, why they’re last in the Missouri Valley, why so many empty seats turn out to watch them play.

And yes, they reminded us why Jim Les’ days remaining as head coach likely number fewer than 20.
You would have a point if he said what you say he said, but he didn't. He was very careful in how he said it by using "likely" as a qualifier.

I know that he used likely. If he had not, then it would be a much bigger story. I stand by my post. I am sorry that the point is lost on you.

He probably does know something, since some people are referring to the article as being "all fact". Personally, I thought the line about why his days as head coach are probably fewer than 20 sounded more like opinion than fact, but I could be wrong. I just find it hard to believe that statement would be considered a fact at this point in time.

This could mean next Tuesday's BU IL State game would be the least most important game in JL's coaching career...

(ps sorry for the gallows humor....)

I thought the game when he was running the pick and roll, instead of learning about it in a classroom, was more important than anything else.

Exactly. The implication was that he knows and is being coy, when his statements did nothing but indicate what anyone with some reason can piece together, all while putting his credibility on the line, when he could not have been more careful and ambiguous.
