Yeah, sure. You need to be there to see how much interaction actually does go on with some of those refs and the fans, especially a couple known agitators.

I go to Bradley games. I go to hundreds of college games each year. Some with about 75 people there, some with 15,000 there. Fans get on officials everywhere. Not just at Bradley.

Officials at the DI level don't give technicals to coaches because some fan has been giving him grief. That's silly.

Total conspiracy here...and I'll admit I'm thinking out loud. I've a question, because I haven't been following along perhaps as well as I should have.

I read in this thread that Jim has had 3 such late technical fouls late in close games (does that include the silly T he got against ISU).

The reason I ask is that some folks around me have postured that he may be actively trying to get a buy-out. And it does seem odd that he would choose to mouth off down two when his team is in the thick of battle.

It was clearly a foul and from Jim's vantage point he most likely couldn't have seen it. Is it far fetched to think Jim may be doing his part to "seal his fate" or a real possibility in your opinions?

In my opinion, that is not even a possibility.

The ref that called the T...was staring down Coach Les and looking for a reason to T him up...I was close enough to him ...the ref was not watching the action of the game...he was staring at JL...that is unprofessional in my opinion...if he is not staring at JL he is not T ing him up...not condoning JL's words of choice or timing...

In your opinion he was "looking for a reason to T him up". Obviously that's not fact. I don't think officials are looking to call T's on teams in the guts of the game. Unless of course they are "out to get" JL which they probably are

Oh come on now DC! Pollard maybe but he'd just have the fans thrown out...

But to say Les got a T because of Mark Scott is absolutely absurd!

We can only imagine what B4L's got.

Not sure whether I can really agree or disagree on this one but I can tell you how I saw things...

The official around the scorers table had told both coaches on an occasion to get back in their coaching box...he had then told Les to sit down and shut up less than a minute before the T...while not complete professional, also not out of the realm in how officials interact these days...

Then the foul came and Jim started chirping at that same official...it was at this time that Janssen turned around to pay attention to Les and interject himself in the action...

Janssen then made a gesture as to tell Les to just walk away and it was at that point Les said the four letter magic word and boom T time...

I'm not saying Les was completely in the wrong, but as always, he couldn't have picked a much worse time to get a T...

all I know is that the ref was looking for JL to say something and the T was quick...the ref was clearly NOT watching the game....

I wasn't there so I don't know how it all went down...but if you feel there is a pattern then you change what you do....kind of like a player adjusting to how a ref calls a game I guess......again I believe JL doesn't have a good rep with league officials....

I hear ya MCD. This seems to happen to Les WAY too much and it has become clear that certain officials target him. Les is no saint and should really know and understand that certain officials may be targeting him. That is why he needs to be particularly careful during key points in the game, especially when it is clear that a ref is looking for any reason to T him up.

I really hope Les, Cross, and/or Glasser are letting Elgin and the MVC know that this is total BS!

It's hard to beat 8 on 5 I guess. Bradley might be the only team in America that gets homered at home.
